Thanks, I checked Native Instruments site and could not find Carbon 2 ,are you saying I need Reaktor to get Carbon 2 free, I did a search and found a download of it, on a site but I'm guessing it must have been a crack then. Anyway I did not download it. I suppose it will only be available on NI site anyway.

Prodigious is a must have emu of the moog prodigy also from the same deve poly 2106 his site is dead so you can find his stuff here http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?new=plug-ins as well as many other free synths that rock. His versions may not be the latest though so always check the link to the dev to get the latest version.

note synthmaster is available in several forms there is a be version and a cm version both differ greatly
you can also download its free version online from their website as well with no need to buy magware but that is also a different version with different capabilities.

Join zinio and get computer music sometimes they give away credits free and then you can get a download version of computer music for $5 an issue with access to their plugin bundle through the online vault of 30 Plus fx and synths if you get the issue with Rapture then you get Rapture free or actually for $5. notable synths - poly kb II cm, Alchemy cm, plucked string cm,

the beat magazine in germany has to be mailed to you for you to access it. They have a disc and it contains a lot on each issue but I have never ordered one.

Also check out this workzone issue here. I need to order this as well it has warmverb from tone 2, geist lite, little one le, wok sam se 4, darkstar and sidizer which are not available anywhere else in magware or online. plus it also has xils 3 be and dune be so if you can't find those online they are on the disk as well as many others.

Carbon 2 comes with Reaktor free content (Reaktor Factory Selection). First download the free player and install it, then install the factory selection.

In fact, I suggest to download all the players (Komplete players). Kontakt player has a content (a separate download also I think) and Guitar Rig Player (which has really nice effects). Also, the demos of NI are very generous IMO. You can run Massive, FM8, Absynth, Battery, or Reaktor for half an hour before the sound disappear with a notice.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my post, I've downloaded some really good stuff from the links, and I've still got a couple of the links to check out. Looks like I'm gonna be busy checking all the virtual instruments and FX out. Where would we be without KVR.

long time ago. it was so so and I deleted it from my folders. Trust me there are thousands out there and I went through hundreds and all the ones we have told you about here are the cream of the crop and those we have not mentioned are not likely to be all that great to begin with. If you focus on just using the best of the best mentioned in this thread you will save yourself a lot of headaches.

Again these all take systems that will run them and I would also add jbridge to your list of things to give a try. It may help you get some of these to work. I operate on a windows 8.1 64 bit system so some of the older 32 bit plugins do not work right in my daw unless I rewire reaper and open them in reaper or take the time to jbridge them. If only I had my time back from testing so many useless vsti that I ended up deleting.

Of the ones that have problems that I can make work in jbridge or reaper: Voyager, Proteus vx, Sonigen Modular, Zynaddsubfx and an older version of PG8X. All are worth the trouble to grab jbridge.

I know the feeling, but I still can't help trying all the crappy vsti's out. I'm using Ableton live and it must take a good 40 seconds to load because of all the plugins it has to search for first. I know what you mean though it is a bit of a headache.
