Not poking fun at anyone. Just venting some frustration.

Here's a question that I think is legitimate. It's not snarky or meant to be shitty...

Where is the music created in bitwig? What cool things are being done MUSICALLY with it.

No seriously, I want to know.

@TheoM

Re-used it from my equally messed up faNTASY video starring Nathan Drake

There have been some posts of creations made in Bitwig in the Bitwig forum. Not a lot but some of the creations are quite good.

Is that what you mean hibidy?

As far as cool things, I'm unclear of the question. Personally, I'm finding the workflow better in some ways than other DAW's, and sometimes worse.

Every DAW i have ever used has its pluses and minuses. If there was a way to take the pluses from each and compile them into one DAW then the perfect DAW could be developed.

The ONE thing I am most impressed with, versus Live, NO CRASHES! (But then there are some other issues that have impeded workflow.)

Since mentioning crashes hibidy - were you serious the other day? Live is crashing on you?

Say it isn't so! You have had an excellent run with Live and this really surprises me.

BTW - FWIW - I took your questions as legitimate - not snarky at all IMO.

No, that's what I wanted. I went over there looking but didn't see anything like "music made with bitwig"

seriously, I was just curious.

@live/crashes:

Yeah, I'm not serious about bitwig, but I am serious about the crashes. It's linked to specific variables. I hate troubleshooting :x

I think I've worked around it.

There is such a thread... but it's not a sticky... Otherwise there is misc music posted in other threads... and yeah, some of it is good.

I haven't launched the Bitwig demo in weeks and stopped visiting the forum... I may try it again when 1.0.9 comes out... for sure will try it when 1.1 comes out.

I didn't see it, I'll search around later.

What kind of variables hibidy?

Can you go into detail about what was causing a problem and your solutions?

I'm hopeful to glean something that may help with my Live crash issues.

TBH I miss working in Live, no doubt, but BWS has been very stable for me. I think once they get the missing features in BWS it will be a DAW hard to beat.

Let me know if you can about your problems with Live.

Thanks!

I read the other day(in the "Official" KVR Forum) where someone was hopeful that the 1.09 fix would finally allow Bitwig Studio to be trusted to use in a Professional capacity, granted that was just one User and certainly does constitute a majority however I would think that as much as they charged for buying in you would think it would be at least stable enough to be usable in that capacity but that is a troubling circumstance. Although it's not new as almost every DAW is the same after updates, out of the box they still can be worked around as is the case most of the time. They generally "Fix" issues and rarely "Add" new capabilities right out of the gate as has been the case with Bitwig Studio, REAPER comes to mind but I'm sure some will say that there are others, a bolt on approach rather than a coherently planned and executed program.

One shouldn't be pinning hopes on future fixes to be confident enough to be able to use the product after years of beta's and prior development experience that the Bitwig team has been allowed.

I suggest anyone interested wait until version 2 maybe by then it will finally catch up with the Competition, right now along with innovative idea's all it's got is a loyal (and hopeful) Fanbase grasping at the next hotfix.

What you write has SOME truth to it CT; however, I will point out there are some users professionally finishing projects with BWS. Or at least there are some that say they are.

In its present form BWS has a lot going for it and is a usable product. To what degree relies on the user. I have been able to use the available features to complete songs. No, I do not work in a professional capacity - strictly for my own personal gratification.

This allows me to be more open minded about things missing or not. I agree a professional engineer may be pressed (mind you - MAYbe) to finish a project.

In its present form there are missing features, some of which really belong. Many have become immediately frustrated with missing features. I see no point in becoming frustrated and instead consider the tool to be used as it is.

Am I hopeful additional features will be implemented soon? Absolutely. Do I expect they will be implemented soon? While I doubt it I do remain hopeful - but I'm not to the point I find BWS unusable.

I agree "One shouldn't be pinning hopes on future fixes....". Instead, one should understand the software is what it is today. If one buys in one should not consider it is or will be something else later.

If there are doubts to the capabilities of BWS there is a demo available. I encourage anyone with doubts to demo BWS before deciding whether or not it is a tool for them.

When reading the threads posted often the reader gets a misrepresentation and inaccurate information. It really is required to try for oneself before making a decision about something as important as a DAW (re: Affordability).
