This is a revised version. The first Studio Drums version had trouble outputting to SampleTank. This one has a new UFO that outputs to SampleTank 2 with amazing flexibility. It takes the single disc and expands it to 2 gigabytes of potential drum options with GM or IMAP kits or individual snares, kicks, hats, cymbals and toms for making your own "combi kits" in ST2. This was a lot of work to do but it also makes this library kick some serious booty for $99. The quality and variety of the drums rivals top drum libraries that cost more. It has about 40 drum kits of which there are about 5 brush kits. It's pretty versatile and extremely realistic. It should be shipping really soon. We're just ironing out some things with the UFO. You have cool options on which you want to output (because to do all of it takes quite a bit of time to install actually... but nice to have the option).

Of course this is a free update to all current Studio Drum Capsule owners and we'll be sending that out automatically to our database when we're done since only www.esoundz.com has sold capsules so far. But, in a matter of weeks this is going to finally change and capsules will be available all over the world very soon.

So far, this is the best drum library we've ever released. We also have a massive more expensive library of drums (that are actually different samples entirely) coming out as well that is also really great but a different price point. The material we've got has been worked on for years and is some of the best you can get in drum sounds. I say that confidently but not meaning to be boastful. I love drum sounds and I am critical about a lot of the libraries some people rave about. These are some of the most useful sounds and yet the price is one of the best out there.

I am looking forward to this one.

Thanks Dave!

If people liked the Studio Drum Capsule before... Now, since we've added more material, both GM and I-Map in full kits and individual drum programs the Studio Drum Capsule is a monster. (a free update for previous Studio Drum Cap owners btw). It was a lot of work and the library was already good to begin with really (ie. no complaints...except for GM map requests). We're proud of it.

Even in the office when SR guys have been working and working on something you'd think they'd hate it by the time it's done. But, Dan and Dustin keep raving to me how good it is and relaying what customers are saying about it. I keep thinking that if they like THAT then they are going to freak on the new IDK. SR is in the process of releasing some of the best playable drum kit samples you can get! I love and appreciation for good playable drum multisample libraries (as you guys know I love to play drums from the keys). There are a lot of great sounding libraries out there but not all of them come with the performance nuances laid out across the keyboard such as ghost notes, two stick rolls, a variety of hits and positions for each drum, multiple dynamics... The key is really the I-Map and the funny thing any other developer can do the same map if they wanted. I think it would be great (and I would probably buy their library if they did for one). In the meantime, if you like the I-Map then boy do we have a lot of drums for you!

Incidentally, I know a lot of people are used to the GM map as well so even Acoustic Drums eROM has an update coming with both I-Map and GM maps for you. I did that myself and it was a lot harder to do than you may think! I just figured that enough people ask for that remap in Cubase and Sonar that we might as well just offer it in both maps in ST. (although the new version of Acoustic Drums eROM is in ST2 format so you have to own ST2 to use it, not the original ST1 LE which it is not backwards compatible with anymore).

squids, i guess your drum capsule is more of a live drum kit. do you guys have anything that would let me play bass kicks in notes? lets say an 808 kick at different notes? thanx for any help.
hey bud! whats yur problem?

The Eclectic Drum Capsule is good for that. It has electronic drums as well as a variety of different drum flavors from processed to acoustic sounds.

I wonder if someone could explain a bit about the different categories listed for the kits, as shown here: Studio Drums Capsule

For example, what do "2D", "MD/alt", "MD", and "MD/st" refer to?

If UFO is supposed to translate into all the various sampler formats, why a specific category for NNXT kits?

Thanks.

2D = 2 Dynamic
MD = MultiDynamic
MDAlt = MultiDynamic with alternating random hits (NNXT only)
MG/ST = MultiDynamic done for ST where it lines up with "slots" in a certain way.... that's not really supposed to be an output for NNXT (it was an internal thing) but when I saw it in there since it gives a little different mapping convenience if you want to put other things into dynamics slots (esoteric 1% of customers actually would I bet) then it is there. Why not?

The NNXT's main specific category is the ALT one because it does Alternating in a certain way with this feature.

I got this and installed it along with ST2LE today...

As soon as I pick my jaw up off the floor, I'll have more things to say about it... I've never heard drums this good. Ever.
