I have the HS5's, I love them for mixing non EDM, hate them for EDM. The MSP5s are front ported which is probably better for how most home users have them setup, e.g., against a wall. Bass response on the HS5s was a problem for me, especially with the rear ports. Ultimately I moved to different monitors (with 6.5 inch bass drivers), still rear ported, but I moved them so that this is less of a problem, although, it was much less of a problem than the HS5s even before moving. A lot of people like the HS8s and I would say that, in general, a slightly larger monitor (cabinet really, not speaker cone, although they go together generally), often makes getting the bass right a little easier.

I don't have any experience with the MSP5s though, so, beyond observing that they're front ported, I can't help much.
