I had this idea of tuning stacked voices to different overtones, and then further spreading the pitch of each voice, which should hopefully result in interesting clangorous effects.

On the same lines, how about the ability to modulate by multiply? That would be particularly handy in FM world...

Anyway, agree with the original post for sure. I've had a couple roadblocks I couldn't figure out over this without setting the osc to Hertz and doing a lot of hand tuning with the modmap.

It's Saturday, and I've spent too long on the crossword and not had enough coffee yet, so I'm probably talking nonsense.
I was thinking about the possibility of modulating the "Multiply" on the Oscillator Modifier (a super handy way of dialling in FM modulator ratios). You're right, though, there might be a way to do it using ring mod, depending on the range of constants/scalars available on the mod input. But first, the coffee...

If it weren't quantized, though, it could surely be quantized first by quantizing the modulation sent to it by 32 or however many harmonic steps there are? Then you'd have the option of smoothing over the transitions to each step by putting it through the lag. Then you have the best of both worlds.
