i.e. Only touches quiet bits and pushes them up

Something optimized to only do that one job would get my vote.
apologies, i haven't used many dynamic fx because the old basic ones do what i expect of them and i avoid the hype, expense and inevitable public hysteria and fuckery of more recent candidates.

but a long time ago in a hardware paradigm far, far away, iirc they used to call such processors "expanders". (don't know if that will lead you to suitable items..)

pytchblend - what isn't syng2 doing for you?
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

A definitive (realistic) Acoustic Drums for free... Maize Sampler call! ;-)

I've played around with the idea of DSF. It's not really the DSF anymore but based on the power series as well: Here is a single oscillator playing a single note with its parameters modulated by LFOs. (No filter, effects or anything just the oscillator.) Interesting? Too crazy? Too harmless?

Hmm.
Well Ive always heard people say that Neodynium can do something special in this regard, but I dont really know.
Apparently FF Pro-G can do a similar job of pushing up, instead of down, so I will kick that around.

AN updated version of something like Samplexer
http://www.dehaupt.com/SynthEdit/Samplexer.htm (http://www.dehaupt.com/SynthEdit/Samplexer.htm)
which could record in stereo and save/load wav files. It seems as if it should be possible using Dave Haupt's SynthEdit modules.
http://www.dehaupt.com/SynthEdit/DH_BasicModulePak.htm (http://www.dehaupt.com/SynthEdit/DH_BasicModulePak.htm)
I would even be willing to give this a try myself, but my knowledge of programming is minimal and SynthEdit is too graphical since I am visually impaired. Although if someone else put this together, I would definitely buy it if it wasn't free.

A finished version of The Drop.

EDIT: Oops! Is a filter plugin an instrument or an effect?

Mini-Omnisphere-like-evolving-texture-pad-rompler-thing

Or a good eventide-ish vocal harmonizer plug... that's an effect though.

A filter plugin is of course an effect.

But if I recall correctly it is not forbidden to compete with the creation of effects.

I think the winner will be whoever samples one instrument really well. Whether that be a guitar, a pale drum or somebody singing drunkenly. It will also need to have decent adjustable perimeters to sculpt.

I would love to see an emulation of Gleman's Pentaphonic.

Apparently, there are already freeware VST plugins that do this: http://www.verklagekasper.de/synths/index.html. Doesn't sound half bad, but there's no Mac version, so I can't play around with them. It must be possible to take it a bit further, though. I thought it could be fun to have 4 DSF oscillators, each with its own mod sections for output level and the "ratio" parameter, and a phase switch, but I'm not sure anyone could create interesting patches for it.

Low latency autotune, been using Kerovee today, good enough really at 700-some samples, but lower the bar and you have my #1 vote no matter how much I like the rest.

Yes, but PLEASE with a "READABLE GUI".
I use 1920x1080 on both screens and most plugins are way too small for this.........
