A little tune for the quiet hours here:

Sonar3
4 x vurtboxi originalus
smearing of camelphat compressor
chorus, delays
1 x bottle of cheapo red wine

hence it's called

Zinfandel

was going to add a dirty rudeboy bass but never got round to it.

Also it's all recorded 'live' so theres gonna be wrong notes in there... and tempo? whatpo?

Thanks to vurt for hosting the choon, and of course to ian for a diamond of a synth :D

Love to hear comments

its amazing the range of sounds you can get from this synth, i know its been geared towards some pretty far out sound design but you can also get some really nice mellow, smooth sounds from it, and some pretty fat basses too  :D its a joy to just sit and twiddle and make some cra-zy sounds. i actually think that not having any labels on the gui is useful for creating sounds coz you just dive in and don't worry too much about breaking anything :D

cool use of the Vurtbax, very playful. It eats alot of cpu here so I am lucky to get one instance of it going at a time. Nice job. 8)

Theres a 'lite' version of the vurtbox too!. I don't have that powerful a pc but had 4 normal vurtboxes running for this tune before maxing out the cpu. i think there are certain moves you can make to limit cpu usage with the vurtbox - in my experience these are limiting use of the 'saturation' settings, and the release on the envelopes can be set very long so if you turn that down then the cpu drops on multiple note on/offs. thats from memory anyway or i could even be lying given my terrible memory

definitley worth persevering with it though
