Well, not much else to say i guess so ill just leave it at that.
Hope youll enjoy it, any questions just ask.
Please tell us more about the meters.
Each one has 3 sections, unlike the factory GUI.
In the pics they all seem to be registering at 0, then in various degrees to the left of 0. ??

What do they actually show and how do you read them?
Are they left, right and reduction...Mid, Side Peak, RMS ?

Thanks

Cool. Glad to hear you had no problems. :)

Well...yeah. Of course. This kinda goes without saying.

But it could be worse. Sometimes you cant change the UI even via resource replacement, which means if you want a new UI your only hope is the dev himself. If the plugin is old and abandoned...tough luck. So better the replacement procedure than no custom UIs at all.

Hey, thats great!

I had no idea this could be done so thanks for sharing the info. :)

Thank you. So it was a good idea to put in set B after all. :)

Sure.

The center meter, if a module is not set to Mid/Side or MultiBand mode, represents the white needle in the original skin. In Mid/Side mode the bottom meter is Mid and the center meter is Side. (Red and Green needles in the original skin.) In MultiBand mode the bottom meter is LowBand, the center meter is MidBand and the top meter is HighBand. (Red, Green and Blue needles in the original skin.)

The meters obviously display the attenuation (for specifics you would have to ask Vlad), which is why they work 'backward'. Their resolution can be changed from 0-4 dB to 0-12 dB by clicking into the display. They are not Stereo/2Channel, i.e. left and right are not displayed separately. (After all they are just replacement images for the original needles.) The Compressor module only uses the bottom and center meters (mode dependent) and the Protection module always uses the center meter only since is has no Mid/Side or MultiBand mode. The HF Limiter always displays Mid/Side. (When enabled.)

Thanks, that all makes sense.
Great work. :tu:
I must admit however that I'm one (of the minority ??) that still really like the original grey Russian GUI.

Thats perfectly alright.

The black UI is merely meant to be another choice, so obviously you will use whatever you prefer.

The important point is, if you want something different, you can have it. :)

No problem. I also took the liberty of posting a link to your post here on KVR on the Gearslutz mastering forum. Of course, I gave you credit and ensured I included info for the workaround for Mac.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

Really glad that the UI was so positively received. :)

(BTW, did you prefer the with stands or the without stands background?)

As for whats to come, (been asked this via PM); at the weekend i will probably start to transfer the theme to Molot since i can re-use most of the stuff with only slight alterations. Not sure yet what to do after that, (i do graphics work only to relax and of course time is always an issue too), but likely candidates at this point are Oatmeal, z3ta+ and Rapture. Out of these three Oatmeal is the most likely one since it will give me complete control over every last aspect of the UI, including size and position of objects. (Which means i wont be forced to use microscopic text and stuff since i can make everything large enough right from the get go.)

If you don't mind me asking, which font did you use for the labels? Looks like pixel fonts. I was planning on making one for LimiterNo6 but didn't have idea on how the images would be replaced. Your instructions are helpful. Looking forward to your next one.

You probably will.

Could take a while though.

Its a pixel font, yes. For MauSynth i had actually assembled all of the letters and words by hand, but this time i simply used hooge 05_55 because the result is practically the same and in the end its faster.

Just google it. While youre at it, get hooge 05_55 Cyr2 and hooge 05_53 too.

(53 is 2px wider than 55 and 55 Cyr2 has cyrillic letters added.)

^^ Got the fonts. Thank you very much. Really appreciate it.
