Soundcloud's new draconian copyright algorithm

I just uploaded something to Soundcloud. It was 100% original synthesizer work. Not even presets were used, everything was programmed from scratch by me. Yet somehow it got immediately flagged for copyright infringement. Wouldn't even let me know what I was infringing on in the first place.

I guess this is what happens when you relinquish all judgment to a computer algorithm. Anyone else had this happen to them?

Are you sure you just weren't flagged by a troll?

It was flagged the nanosecond it finished uploading and processing.

If that keeps happening and people keep encountering unexplained false positives, their users will simply stop posting to Soundcloud, so other users will stop visiting Soundcloud to listen to new sounds and then Soundcloud wins, don't they? Haaaa! Perhaps they lose, actually.

This always happens when a company mistakes a bunch of lawyers in suits as their VIP customers and community. Their ordinary users are their most important asset. Without them, they have no business at all. They forget that.
My music is a fusion of jazz and funk. It's called "Junk"

Well there you go I guess, the apex has been reached, it's all downhill from here for soundcloud. This whole copyright thing is very sad to be honest. Us little artists are still being ripped off, still having our stuff scraped and "curated" at sites and on youtube, where the uploader is thanked and praised, where the uploader takes ad revenue while we get nothing.

Have you noticed how the walls appear to be closing in from all angles sometimes? Makes you wonder.

Except they're in Berlin, Germany, Europe and originated from Stockholm, Sweden, Europe.

So welcome to Europe?

SoundCloud have been becoming less and less attractive over quite some time now.

First they start re-encoding everything so it sounds like crap, then they let everyone download the original instead of the re-encoded rubbish, lately they try to force not-signed-in listeners to "sign up now if you want to listen to more music from this artist", and now they start messing around with this sort of stuff... I'm really reluctant to renew my premium membership there.

I really wish there was an alternative to SoundCloud.

Sounds like Youtube all over to me.

Is SoundCloud in any battles with the GEMA? If so... have fun in the future!

Another reason why I'm not at any social communities, Cloud Services or Video communities. Yet at least...

Youtube is weird. I swear it says to me "You're signed in. Sign in again to leave a comment". Seriously, WTF?

Ohhh.. right.. sorry about that. Because it is always someone else's fault but 'your' own. I forgot that.

I don't have a country anymore. It's being railroaded into Americanization whether 'we' want it or not. My comment was meant half-jokingly, though. Truth be told, it's globalization and corporatocracy that is taking over the globe. Whether we call that "American" is kinda academic as the average American suffers under it just as much as everyone else.

Then it doesn't seem so exactly academic.. the wording you give is anti-Nation. Otherwise you'd simply call it 'globalization' and 'corporatocracy' instead of repeatedly calling it 'American.'

And globalization has been occurring for centuries.. think Spain, Netherlands, England, France, and any other country that has sent off 'explorers' to gain ground from across a sea. Or the Ottoman Empire with their Silk road.. the United States didn't even exist then so it doesn't seem too accurate to name globalization, be it positive or negatively shown, as American. The want for more has likely been in the hearts of men since men first existed.

And are you living on a boat in International waters?? :hihi: Surely you do have a country(ies), in which you live, even if you don't claim it/them.

I think it's been going downhill for about 20 months already :(
