I've been eyeing hearthis.at recently. But I'm going to wait for some time before seriously thinking of switching.

would you like me to see if I can get them to build you a ketch version? IMO the sloop will do nicely

I guess this is what happens when you relinquish all judgment to a computer algorithm. Anyone else had this happen to them?
I have not had this happen to me. Did you check the file to make sure that there were no metadata tags embedded that could have triggered the flag? I know that some programs (e.g., Wavelab) will sometimes embed the previously used metadata if I'm not paying attention.

see this is how I have been all my life, money is the worst motivator for me. Recently I drove through the neighborhood I grew up in which was thick woods everywhere and a street with only 13 houses. The house next to the one I grew up in and the house next to that had every single tree cut down, they didn't miss one. One of the two houses was torn down and there were construction trailers there. Another Mcmansion going up, I really want to retire to downeast Maine and I have a thing I say..."just give me a tin can in the woods of Maine and I'll be happy".

Of course I really do not want to live in a tin can (my words for a trailer), though I would (I would have to build on a room for my studio). But then I said to the wife2b, "I respect the man living in a tin can in the woods a hell of a lot more than the man who tears down the woods for their Mcmansion", this is happening all over my hometown and sure it's good for the town's property taxes...but it just makes me want to head more into the woods or better still out to sea like Barry above, it is in my blood after all...but then so isn't the woods

It was flagged the nanosecond it finished uploading and processing.
You might want to contact them to find out what the problem really is. Unfortunately, people upload other artist's popular work all the time on SoundCloud, and for some reason, that's allowed. I'd be interested to find out what the problem is with your piece.

I haven't had it happen to me yet, and I've uploaded dozens of original pieces. (Admittedly, most are crap and no one would want to claim the copyright, but that's beside the point.)

I'm with you, Hink. I don't know why humanity seems so hell bent on exterminating all foliage. How does that improve land value and taxes? Ugliness is valuable??

Cement everywhere. I hate it. I cannot comprehend the people that grew up in noisy urban environments and hate peace and quiet. I'd happily trade places with some unhappy "city folk" that wrongly moved to the country and wants to get "back to civilization"...

I doubt the algorithm has any way of sorting the originality of your sound design.

Thomas Datt complained about Soundcloud reporting copyright infrigement in a mashup of his own song. It complained of course about his own part, not the other track :D

I did not have any Soundcloud issues yet and I gradulay build some fanbase there, but I see how it may be unusable.

Maine is not very prone to tornadoes, the ones they do get are very small and often in unpopulated areas. I remember once being up in woods near our camp, I was a couple of miles from any paved roads and at least a 1/2 mile form anything more than a trail more traveled by game then people. I veered off the trail into the thicket and suddenly I found myself in an area where a bunch of trees were down, pushed right over and the roots torn up. My first though was someone was building there (which seemed odd) and used heavy equipment to knock down the trees, but there were no tire or track marks. Just one isolated spot maybe 1/4 of an acre in size in the middle of the woods.

I decided because of how it seemed like it lacked any direction that it had to be either a micro-burst or a very small, short lived tornado. If it wasn't for people using radar and satellites to constantly watch weather most tornadoes in Maine would go unnoticed until someone discovered something like I did.

Here in Mass we do not get many either but we have had more notable tornadoes due to the fact Mass is more populated and the damage is far more reported. The last serious ones we had were two years ago June, nothing like what they have in other states but it was a killer tornado and did do a lot of damage. We can go decades in between large tornadoes though.

In 1971 or 72 I remember one coming right up the river where I live now, I remember taking a ride with my dad to follow it's path and that path started pretty much between where I live now and the river (I am about 150 meters from the river). There is a country club just up the road from me and it did a lot of damage there as I recall but no injuries.

In fact in Mass when they talk about the tornadoes before the ones on June 1st 2012 they always talk of the big one, the 1953 Worcester Tornado.

So I feel pretty safe, we so rarely see them the odds are tiny, but two in the same place? The odds are probably better of me hitting big in the lottery twice. :hihi:
