Rayblaster and Nemesis sound similar to me.
Electra, Saurus, and even Firebird sound similar to me.
Gladiator seems to have a sound not similar to the other two groups though.
I like Gladiator better than the rest of them. I don't care for a lot of the presets either, but some of the sound developers mentioned wouldn't make them any better for me.

I am very happy about this. I hope its a fair priced upgrade like I said about Dune2. And Tone2 has been more then great with me. I get everone has their right to feel the way they feel. But thought only fair to share my dealings with them. I want the electronic dance vst community to be good to one another. I know thats asking alot I understand.

Really? The sound engine is quite different. I have to admit that for me so far programming Rayblaster is more easy than Nemeis. Still have to learn a bit about FM synthesis. Besides that for me there is still a lot to explore in Nemesis.

One feature in Nemesis where you could maybe get similar sounds to Rayblaster is the Formant synthesis mode (when a proper waveform is used in Rayblaster). In Rayblaster complex waveforms often result in having something like a formant filter (where the filter response is extracted from the waveform).

Anyway i have provided some patches for an upcoming new Nemesis soundset.

With the sample resynthesis feature in Rayblaster you could get results close to granular synthesis. The results are different to the usual waveform import. I had created this thread concerning that feature:
http://www.tone2.org/forum/index.php?topic=1446.0

As already mentioned in another thread just based on how many patches i have done for them so far my favorite synths are Saurus, Rayblaster and PPG Wave 3.V (all together close to 700 patches for those).

In the past i had started doing a bunch of patches for ElectraX but now am happy i could continue those with the additional features of Electra 2 (where the old patches are fully compatible).
Many of the 1200 presets of Electra 2 (around double amount as in ElectraX) are really great IMO.

I also seem to remember a selling point of RayBlaster was you could 'make it sound like other synthesizers' - (not the other way around).

I'm sure I would like more of the programs if I was into that kind of molly-induced music, but as they ship, I've only found a handful that are usable for me. Luckily they aren't too hard to get a grasp on to program.

This isn't an electronic dance community. It's a software plugin community. That's a very ignorant and stupid thing to say.

:( whatever this community is...why is that a 'very ignorant and stupid thing to say'? besides, wouldn't any community benefit from good communication (versus endless infighting)?

I meant to say calling kvr a dance community is wrong. I got a little too upset so I'm sorry for the mean words. Kvr is not edm.

Everything else he said I agree with.

he obviously meant just a part of the community here. nothing to jump off the pants. :)
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

from tone 2's facebook page:
Electra2 now includes Physical Modeling synthesis. Two new resonator filter modes; Phys.String & Phys.Flute allow you to create Physical Modeled sounds. Both include a INIT menu template patch to have Electra2 quickly set up a patch for you.
An additional noise oscillator type; Pink noise was also added for general purpose and plucked string physical modeling simulations. :o
cheers

So close to selling lush 101 and buying this. So close. Must. Turn. Awayyyy.

The resampling was already awesome, but physical modeling is golden. Any audio or video demo's?

Audio demos are coming soon. We are a good bunch of demowriters doing this these days.
If doesn't change anything, 22th or 23th this month there should be audio demos.

In my opinion, i can say that the new sounds and presets are great.

Have a nice day :)

Also close to pulling the trigger on this. Judging from the demo it seems like a great all-round synth. Very impressed with the CPU-usage and the ease of use.

But I don't get why there are so few third-party presets available for it.
