There's another month and half, no need to start yet. ;)
Easy for you to say! My fingers are cramping already, still need to solve this monster equation:
Well, I was kinda joking actually. I have a project that would be sort of perfect for this, but right now I'm trying to figure out what are the features I could implement with a reasonable amount of effort and what stuff should be cut as "takes too long." [edit: actually let's link this here]

How about a vst that will do drops for the newbies? Basically a 4 track randomizer. A kick, snare, bassline and super saw. Call it the "Sound like Martin Garrix-izer" and rake in the cash.

I know it's too late, but a FX that would read midi and tell you what chord is playing, and what scale, would be great. I'd even buy that.

Is there a good theremin vsti? That would be cool

this isn't anything i'd like to see, it's an idea for anyone looking for one that takes 10 minutes to code.

effect, simple FFT analysis IFFT resynthesis with adjustable block rate. allow the user to define frequency/bin range (preferably with a curve or slope) and apply phase randomisation to that range, ~"frequency band decorrelation".

i've posted demos of this a few years back, it sounds like you'd expect, like n^2 echoes realigning at block rate... kind of like a really sparse or crappy reverb with marginal application due to the periodicity... the trick is that small/less overt amounts could be intimated as being able to "rough/warm" up a signal.. eg. a plain sawtooth might be coered into sounding fluffy in a certain band.. haven't tried it but i bet it would be useful enough to make it into the top 20 and secure some appreciative users.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

+1 for brass, PM flute (only one I've seen was super buggy) and plenty of presets(really helps display the sound capabilities of a synth for those who aren't expert sound designers)

One thing I'd like to see that I have really came across is a synth that wasn't so static in it's sound(besides slow moving pads), ex something that could do cool growls, talking leads, wah wah type rhythms, auto-pan/phaser type sounds that don't sound the same every time you hit a note something with kind of a drifting lfo/tempo/pattern based fx/modulation variable would be really cool for just playing around with

Another thing that would be cool would be a random vocoded speech synthesizer, that spit out random words at random notes in a scale via tempo, a tourettes preset would be particularly interesting

There is a tool which was out just yesterday and seems funny to randomize a part of the play:
RandARP

It's free, and I haven't yet tried it. The company (CodeFN42) which produces it seems to be totally new... it has created its KVR account yesterday and registered five MIDI tools (probably its first tools) all at the same time.

I'd like to see Yamaha release its Motif XF sound engine, or even the MOX, in a multi-timbral software instrument.

I saw that stuff, looked cool, people who want to use a 64 bit host aren't going to have much freeware.

Yes, but this tool is provided for both, 32-bit and 64-bit, as we can see on the original webpage. The guy has just forgotten to tick the 32-bit checkbox in the KVR product page.
