I need a cheap drive that doesn't have to be larger than 18GB, preferably 7200 rpm and with 8mb cache, but this isn't essential.

Anyone in the UK/London who'll sell me one?

watch out for those 20 gig Maxtors .... I have seen at least 3 here that have completely failed. Not Fun.

Yep ...I too have 1 that's still holding up ....
But i have a few in a pile that are toast. 1 of em works for 20 minutes till it heats up then it disapears with a crash

At least i was able to copy the stuff over in a few sessions...

Remember ....
Always Back up that important song.... You'll be lucky if you ever write 1 good Hit ....so to lose it to a crash ....Ouch

I think hard drives are a portion of my computer I would NOT buy second hand.. mainly because of no warranty and I wouldn't know the reliability/use of the drive I was buying... for all I know it was used as the ball in a game of football (not soccer)...

why risk it when a new drive is only a bit more?

Wanted: 2nd hand 20GB hard drive
