I've got the great chance to create presetbanks for a sounddesign company (Xclusive-Audio), and I felt the urge to ask:
Are there any sounds/presets that you feel there's simply too little of, that you struggle to find?
I'm talking about sounds that gives a certain feeling, or has some specific signature, or simply a certain type of sound, etc... you get the point.

Also, what genre(s) do you produce?

I find it hard to find sounds that Michael Cretu (Enigma) creates. I don't know just how much of his sounds are samples that are manipulated to suit his needs, or are from real synths or even vst synths. He has had so much kit over the years, I'm sure he can morf many sounds using samplers, that we can't manage.

Production wise - I create electronic experimental music, sometimes it has a beat, sometimes not.

all the vintage Yes Genesis ELP Pink Floyd Deep Purple Led Zeppelin Jan Hamer Tony Hymas Dream Theater Symphony X Jethro Tull Styx Kansas King Crimson stuff is always of interest to those who want to play the greats of the past and sound exact.

Synthmaster and OPX can do a lot of these vintage sounds with the presets they offer

I can't get enough rhythmic/sync sounds.

I can never get enough aquatic type sounds (surf, waves, rain, running water, thunderstorms, etc.), or space type sounds (sounds that make you think of outer space or whatever). Yeah, I like my cheese.

As for the type of music I make: experimental/soundscapes and craptastic attempts at sounding like Vangelis or early Tangerine Dream (their experimental stuff).

Unless I use my guitar, then it's blues; or blues-rock, whatever that means.

hard to find decent "getter" sounds...you know like when Transformer transform you hear BWarrrrrrp or synth sound with an almost full feedback delay that u modulate the rate

for me, noise-based sounds. like pads based on textures based on white, pink noise (heh)… maybe winds, stuff like that; fillers, not lead sounds all the time. background stuff that mix and blends well with other important synths (leads, hi freq pads, etc).

but interesting noise, not only simple winds, etc, some signature sounds. something special.

Post

-Arps
-Evolving pads
-Noise (pink, white, and brown)-based sounds
-Interesting sequences
-Not the same damn sounds that everyone else has also made (granted, you want your presets to sell, but there is just so much sameness out there)
-Vintage sounds
-Drums and percussion (I don't think I've ever seen a preset pack that is just that)

Genres I work in: House, techno, trance, rave, ambient, soundtrack, video games, chip tunes

Thin expressive leads for Omnisphere. There's loads of textures, basses, complex evolutions etc, but not many expressive soulful leads. Sounds that have emotive modwheel programming and are specifically designed for non-dance lead lines.

There is a bonus pak of Leads being released for Blue Box owners.
Its free to all customer's who purchased Blue Box and are in good standing.
They are old school, vintage style leads so it might be something you would appreciate.
They do have the standard modulation on the mod wheel like old school hardware synths.
That is essentially what they are, vintage style leads.
