I have just recently discovered the demo of Mux 5 and it is fantastic. I'm about to purchase but I've noticed this Mulab 6 beta and how Mux is being renamed etc but can't really find any info about the future of Mux.

I'll buy it anyway but I just thought I'd ask in case it's worth waiting a few weeks to get a new version licence.

Have also seen an interview where you mentioned Mux getting an FM module. Is this still happening? Again, no deal breaker here, consider me sold, but thought I'd ask.

Really love your work:)

Post

If you buy your MuLab 5 UL user key now you'll get a free upgrade to MuLab 6 UL as soon as MuLab 6 is released.

Yes a FM module is on the wishlist but can't yet give a time estimation on it.

Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated.
I was asking specifically about the Mux vst plugin. Is it also heading for version 6 and does the same apply with licensing, can't seem to find any specific info?

Post

Yes MUX 6 Vst will be released soon after the MuLab 6 release. And same principle applies: If you buy a MUX 5 Vst user key now you'll get a free upgrade to MUX 6 Vst!

I've been using this a few days now. All my old projects load without problems. (Good.)

I had to rebuild my Mavericks installation after a big crash unrelated to MuLab. Everything is good so far. I like the new look.

That's great, thanks. M6 is looking good!

The MuLab 6 pre-release packages are available on http://www.mutools.com/mulab-downloads.html

Also the M6 docs are ready: http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/index.html

(maybe refresh your browser cache if old content shows up at first)

What's changed since the last M6.0.22:
  • Unfocused tracks and racks are subtly colored in their color.
The intensity of this is a user preference and can be set to 0 to disable this visual effect.
  • Right-click the [Edit] button (when it's on) to open the current part editor in a floating window.
  • Right-click the [Modular] button to switch between docked and floating mode.
  • Envelope part editor: Left side and Point Property Panel now also use the effective values instead of generic percent values.
  • Fixed a prob with the OVW files being refreshed all the time.
  • When having done 'New Session' the Start.MuSession won't be auto-loaded anymore.
  • Modular areas: Audio mixer strip editor looks were not 100% ok. Fixed.
  • When saving/deleting a preset file while the browser was showing that type of files caused a reset of the browser file list. Tuned.
  • Composer: Sometimes when zooming in, some audio parts could have an incorrect tail in their audio display. Fixed.
  • Tuned the graphical clipping when dragging objects around.
  • Sequence part start marker could not be set before itself when part started on 1.1.0. Fixed.
  • Renamed Rack Desk to Mixing Desk.
  • New preference "Time Bar Text Contrast".
  • MuSynth Waveform display: Back in draw mode, cfr M5.
  • New M6 splash
  • Tuned a bunch of other details.
How to update from M6.0.22: Install the new package and copy over your user folder.

Cheers!

Nice additions, like the fact that you can add subtle colouring to the Racks/Mixing Desk, makes it clear and looks better. Thanks.

if you could on the next release have were you can pull the tracks down to resize them not just by pressing the + and - could could just resize one at a time or joined and when your going through your loops they could stay in sync with your track while its playing and also for them to be timestretch to the projects tempo thanks :tu:

Let's first make sure there are no bugs in it, before we drown him in ever new feature requests. I hope Mulab will not become too feature-rich like all the others. Not everything that is possible needs to be implemented...

It's already the official release by now, right?

Post

yeah sure maybe your right

Post

Maybe he could do a poll, asking users to select the 10 most wished for features from a list of 100 features or whatever the number of features is that people have asked for over the years...

Post
