Maybe i`m just in a mood, but i`m wondering what the REAL purpose of this post is!
This is a site for computer generated music...not acoustic/ vibrating strings.

Is there a big shortage of country/western/folk forums elsewhere?
Maybe try www_nashville.com!

I am a big fan of Neil Young/Joni Mitchell...and so on...but in here...it`s CM only!

Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

I geuss you're just in a mood, annode, as much of my stuff features acoustic\vibrating strings.

Porter Wagoner: Rocky Top

This tune rocks...

I love three types of music...

Classical
Old Jazz
and... Country

Favorites are:

George Jones
Buck Owens (fun stuff)
Merle Haggard
Little Jimmy Dickens

Some of the new stuff is good too.

Country music is nearly as broad as jazz in scope. There have been so many great sub stlyes through the years. Some of it is highly artistic and sublime some of it is corny, tacky and just plain fun.

donkey parton is my favourite cuntry song. :hihi:

Speaking of Hank Williams, did anyone ever hear the album by The The where he did all Hank covers? Great stuff (his cover of "I Saw The Light" was cool as hell)

Hey, does anyone remember cow-punk back in the 80's.....Jason & The Scorchers?? I loved their tune "White Lies"...sounded a little like a country version of The Clash, if you can picture that.
"Hanky Panky"....great stuff. Matt Johnson is without question a genius.

My favorite "cowpunk" band was Rank & File. Sundown and Long Gone Dead are both classics...not as much punk (or rock) as J&TS, but without question something totally new in the early 80s. I wonder what the Kinsman brothers are doing these days?

On the cow-punk subject, does anyone remember Mental As Anything's "If you leave me (Can I Come Too)?". I'm surprised Nashville has never covered it.

I saw them along with the Fabulous Thunderbirds back in the eighties. Can't remember their guitarist's name (Warren??) but he was a raw bluesy rock player.
great show full of energy.
Yep, that was Warner Hodges. 8)

Did a quick search, and it looks like they're still at it (well, sort of)! :)
