HowTo rec wet guitar sound in Cub 5.1 with plugins

My question might be very stupid, but I recently started recording my guitar in Cubase with addition of some VST-FX-plugs (amp models etc.).
I can record the guitar, and while recording, cubase doesn´t give the sound out, when I play it back I hear the sound with the plugs.
Is there any way to listen to the guitar-sound, either dry or wet(most likely wet), while recording?
What do I have to do?
I´m on winXP and using a Midiman audiophile 2496.
Hope someone can help me.

Don't know about 5.1, but in SX there's a switch on every track, called 'Monitor'.
If you switch this on for the track you're recording, you can monitor your performance with effects.
Believe me, I've also sometimes been wondering : 'Damn, why can't I hear my reverb when I record vocals!'
This was the reason.
Peter.

Not ready yet. I've been working on a remix, a song of my own and a soundbank for Vanguard! I think I better get started now!rsmus7 wrote:btw, whats about your new bank for the motion-2.6 contest on PA?
