It just hit me. David Gray song is 1998 trance.

Except for synth bass and Moog filler this was a top 40 vocal IDM song which was actually early trance anthem . Until now I never noticed it. Am I seeing this right?

I can not understand why FFRR decided to release the lackluster "Funny Break" as the lead of single from the 2001 Altogther album.

Because Illuminate with David Gray would have been the perfect cross over anthem, I love this tune:

Huh? What? A little off topic? Yes David Gray, but really?
EDIT - excuse my comment if there is a language barrier.

There's always this Paul Hartnoll (Orbital) remix, which was a bit more techno than trance:

Ha, right. It did hit me soon after. :) Brain fart I guess.
Besides that, what I was really after with this post, was to point out how odd it struck me hearing a trance arrangement with pop-rock instrumentation and lyrical vocal on top.

Been aware of David Gray for yrs, but recently looked into his music.
Don`t know why ppl are going on about Orbital? Grays wife`s brother, I believe, is an Orbital member. What that has to do with this post i`m not certain. :)
