everytime i play any instrument and record it, it doubles everything up and it offsets it also...i have no clue what is causing this, like i press a key, and it'll record that same note twice...

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest trying this:

It may be the fact that you have an emulated MIDI port selected (and in some cases, it may be because you don't have one selected.) If all you see are emulated MIDI ports, the above steps will allow you to see and select the standard MIDI ports. Which might solve your problem.- Browse to the Cubase SX / SL application folder (usually C:\programs\steinberg\cubasesx) and locate the folder "MIDI Port Enabler"
- Open this folder
- Pick the file "ignoreportfilter" and move it into the Cubase SX / SL application folder (one directory up)
- Start Cubase SX / SL
