Problems with ST2.06

Has anyone tried creating user patches in 2.06? I am usually unable to enter a name for a user patch - I get the window asking for the name, but it completely ignores any keystrokes. If I press the OK button, it saves the patch, but with a blank name. If I click Rename, I either have the same problem, or my host app (Brainspawn Forte) disappears instantly.

Also, is anyone successfully creating Program Change Maps? This has never worked for me in ST2, and was confirmed to be problematic a couple of months ago by IK support. It is still buggy in 2.06, but seems to be a bit better. Specifically, when I add certain sounds to the program change map, I get an error message when I try to reload the map. It tells me that not all sounds could be found. The improvement in this version is that it seems to work for more sounds, and seems to work for all user sounds. However, because of the problems with user sounds above, I am pulling my hair out!

Indeed, I can confirm that I have had this problem before. It has happened to me when I have several instances of St2 loaded in my project.

Interesting - now that you mention that multiple instances can cause it, that is probably my problem as well.

How about program change maps? Do they work for you?

Try this:
- highlight Bursty Bass in the preset list (this is the 1st sound in my list, under Bass)
- Press the Program Ch button
- Drag the N/A next to Bursty Bass up to assign the preset to a PC number
- Press Save Map, give it a name, press OK
- Press Open Map, select the map you saved, press OK

I get an error message saying, "Cannot open selected map Check that all included instruments are installed."

For the program change maps I don't get an error...

I followed your instructions and it worked for me.. no error... could be because we use different hosts (?).

I use the VST version of St2 in Fl STudio.

Squids, do you know if IK is aware of this issue? Especially not being able to save our own child presets when multiple instances of st2 are loaded? Or should we e-mail IK support?

Without a doubt, if you find any issues please email IK support. Or go here: www.sampletank.com/support.html

pheeleep,

Thanks for the reply. Do you have your sounds stored in the default folder? I have them on a secondary drive, so I wonder if that contributes to the problem.

I have tried both the VST and DX version in two different hosts (Sonar and Forte) and get the same behavior.

Hi Tombo. Indeed I have them installed in the default folder. Program files> Sampletank2> Instruments

Thanks for confirming - maybe I'll try moving the sound files there and see if that clears it up. I just like to keep all of my sound files off of my main app drive.
