My trick is to add a little TAL Reverb III... and this little synth gets REALLY REALLY big.... :D :D

Question: I'm using T-Force Trance Gate ... this has a "1 Resonance Four Pole State Variable Filter, switchable between Low Pass, High Pass, Bandpass and switchable 12/24 dB slope, Resonance can be driven up to self oscillation." ...... am I allowed to use this part of the plug-in?

Making a nice Goa Tune for this one! Anyone able to make a decent pad with this?

"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

If you're referring to the free one, I got decent results with an arppegiated chord into delays and reverb. Not great, but at least it's a chord. I don't feel like buying another plugin.

I think I managed to put together a good Pad/Drone with 6 layers and plenty automations. Was going for a pure Goa too, but that pad made me go Downtempo Goa/Psybient.

And I have some questions too: are Sleepy Time's Transient and Melda's Comb Filter allowed?

Nice track so far. I like the intro bass fade in/out, very goa like. I'm going for a slower paced Goa tune as well.

Could any of you guys please point me to a way to teach the free version of Bassline how to play Reaper's velocity values? And what is the function of the plugin's velocity knob (called velocitycutoff in Reaper's automation list)?
TIA

No need to bother any more. I found the manual at the bottom of the download site. The velocity knob affects only the filter cutoff. No effect on the volume is possible. Will have to find a way round this.

Have a nice day you all.

the response of the free edition (non demo) vs the 101 commercial is abysmal - side by side with same buffer, there is prohibitive delay... filters do not respond the same, sequencing ability is worlds apart, and the free version does not seem to respond to midi mapping well. not complaining as i own the full version, but this will defiantly be an issue.

will there be 'consideration' for those who use free version/demo/full?
seems it should be narrowed down to one or the other - as there is quite a difference in 'usability'.

btw, greets all - been lurking for quite some time. almost entered the VOPM but had time conflicts. great to see mac compatible contests!
People will likely consider this when voting :) Remember, last year the winner used the free version of TAL-U-NO. All part of the epic challenge that lies ahead :box:
I would, for the sake of the challenge, not even consider using the more complex synth than the freebie. The synth itself is limited (i hate it) but the effects we are allowed to use can significantly change the sound and open up new possibilites.

had a little dabble, think the simple bassline may get a little interesting :borg:

Yup, I'm going with the freebie, too... stacking, stacking, stacking. Even the freebie gets some very good sounds; would love to use some extreme sound mangling but alas, that seems a bit against the spirit of the OSC.

Suggestion: use host parameter editing for finer grained control of the parameters than the GUI gives you.

Aside: I'm using Bitwig this month; finding LOTS of bugs with Bitwig. :( Overall, though, it's sorta fun to use and it does have some nice things about it. Funny, though, some things they designed better than any other DAW and some things that I feel are very important seem incomplete or missing. Strange how people prioritize features.
