I want to keep it short and I hope this will not be annoying for anyone.

Yesterday an illegal distribution of my plugin DSP-1 has been released on a well known warez site. I've set some alerts on google so I've been informed promptly about the illegal release. The software has been illegally distributed by team "HY2ROG3N AUDIO"; BTW thanks to watermark I've been able to identify the person which bought the software and illegally distributed it.

This time I've decided to do something different, I've created an account on the warez site and told them clearly that there's nothing heroic in sharing stuff in this way, it's just an act of cowardice (a piece of software worth €16, discounted at €11...) and it's harming me. It seems the guy behind HY2ROG3N has a lot of enemies even between the warez users: in fact some of them sympathized with me and even confirmed his identity.

Less than an hour ago I complained to the police of his country. I invite all developers that have been damaged by "HY2ROG3N" to do the same by compiling this form:

You can contact me by private message or mail if you need his full name and address.

Cheers,
Max

Hm... "hot topic".

Don't know if you read this as well:

The so called "scene" is indeed getting ridiculous as of late. I am surprised that they didn't go back to "cracking" freeware with nag screens again. Or doing battles about what is a "scene release" or just a "re branded" release and what not.

Hot topic indeed! I wish you good luck and having been pirated myself, I know how it feels!

Nope... That's incredible :-O :hihi:
This guy' IQ must be way below the average score, really.

"Team" HY2ROG3N was always criticized in the "scene" for obviously crap releases and repacks. At least from what I could see over the recent years.

Again, it doesn't surprise me what they try to pull. But it's kind of hilarious that they on the one hand want to "buy" something and then share it to the masses, and on the other hand simply snag something, not even properly crack it and then share it to the masses.

Can't add much more to that. The train is already on "wrecking" course.

He is not even 'in the scene', just some kid posting on those warez websites .. The original and real scene is elsewhere..
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Thanks for your insider insight. Good to know he's a 'bad' scumbag instead of one of the 'good' scumbags.

No, I didn't say/mean that. As a matter of fact I work in the audio business too, for a well-known sample library developer and my products are warezed too (if you need to know for whom send me pm if you don't believe). That's why I also follow when my products are warezed. Also I've been in the demoscene in the 80s and early 90s, and at that time also the warez scene so I have bit of knowledge about these things.. I was just quoting Compyfox since he was refering to the 'scene'.. I didn't mean to imply that I condone the 'real scene' in any way nowadays either.
