Ah, yes. Nothing to do this Sunday so I thought I'd make an KVR competition entry. No, really!

DNA dreams

I could imagine hearing this to a scene where people wake up from their cryo-chambers after a long intergalactic nap and gaze upon a strange and wonderful new planetary system...

Gear used:

- Micro Modular for some fx and synths
- Triton Le for bass and some pads
- Microtonic VSTi for most of the drums + some loops from the Breaks from the Nu School sample CD
- Lots of EVM Ultrasonique and Occam VSTi's
- Some Synth1 and Rez too, I think...
- Compulsory cheezy Sci-Fi sample (from an old radio show)

DNA sequenced in Logic 5.5.1 (PC).

My ears are all messed up today, so if the mix is crap I simply don't want to know about it.

Endgame

Based on the final scene in the Machine City in Matrix revolutions.

Neo lies back in the afterglow of victory. He can no longer feel any pain; blind and wartorn though he is, he feels like a child about to be unborn. He gives him self up to the unfurling fronds of the machine city, his new mother. A mother he has taught how to love.

Been WAY too long since I entered one of these...and nearly missed it again

I based this on my version of a theme tune for Farscape (if you haven't seen it, it's a pretty original and kinda strange Scifi show with a superb soundtrack full of tribal vox). A slow beginning for the story catchup vocal and then faster for the main titles/scene flashbacks.

Produced on Sonar3 with a mighty load of Z3ta, Atmosphere, Dr008 and a few soundfonts. Pre-Mastered in Ozone3.
