No demo for the beta. I only release demos when the "full" version is released.
When is the estimate for demo of the new VVV version?
When the beta testing is done. I'm still receiving feedback from beta users, and there will be at least 1 more beta release for testing, to address some Cubase bugs.

Thanks!

You probably already talked about that, but how different is VVV from Room?

Post

VVV has more character and not as clean as VRoom. VVV is based on Lexicon reverb hardware. Test both demos with your ears.

Here is a little guitar jam live on tape (harddisk) using the Smooth Plate algo:

Guitar Beauty is.... well, a Beauty

Try it (but don't sue me if your spouse will divorce you for the lack of attention, because of this preset ! :D)

I finally caved and picked up VVV.

I've been tweaking my workflow for better efficiency (at least hoping the tweaks do just that) and decided to try replacing my default reverb sends with VVV and I fell in love. Even in Demo mode (which I downloaded after seeing the update notice) I didn't want to take off the plugin. Not only was I able to quickly dial in the sound I was looking for, but CPU consumption was barely registering anything. With 2 instances of VVV (one for room and one for hall) even when processing sound, CPU would only bump to 1-2%.

I was trying hard not buy anything new, but if it sound good and provides a performance bump, then it's easy to justify.

Anyway, looking forward to the official release of new updates/modes (can't do beta much of anything now). The changes since it was first released (the last time I demoed) are already very nice.

OMG.
OMG...
OMG.........................

My Ibanez AS73-IV, VVV with the above Guitar Beauty preset in BWS and 2 hours later I still can't believe it...

Thank you. Image

Just in case, i've been fooling around this week-end with the new non-linear algorithm and saved most results (26 presets) :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/79uac9ouionxjuv/Nonlin.zip

i might define a few categories as :

- gates reverbs and reverse gates (the most obvious),
- cloudy/ghostly effects (huge 100% wet),
- mountain echoes (or alike),
- widener/chorus/rotarish

All strictly based on the non-linear algorithm !

enjoy, some might perhaps deserves to be kept...

odd observation... if you throw a bunch of vee3s in a row (at least 8-9) with dirty hall for at least the first one, the whole chain will start making weird noises all by itself. sounded pretty cool...

The Dirty Hall algorithm has a higher amount of internal noise than most of the other algorithms, to simulate the higher noise floor and "limit cycles" of the original hardware. I could see where these could be magnified by putting a whole bunch of VintageVerb instances in series.

Does the new beta fix the black gui issue in Tracktion 5 with the VST version? (actually all your 64 bit VST plugins do this except FreqEcho)

No idea. I've never used Tracktion. It looks like it can use AU plugins, so if those work, I would use AU in Tracktion.

If there is a GUI bug in there, it is doubly ironic, as the developer of Tracktion is also the developer of Juce, which I use for my GUI framework.
