..that everyone needs to have because without it it's pretty much impossible to make music. Because lets face it, all DAWs are crippled buggy pieces of junk at the moment that make it impossible to create professional music. Bitwig blew the crippled buggy Live out of the water, Reaper was going to blow everything out of the water and Studio One invented workflow, which no one had before that.

I'm expecting that Apple will finally fix the bug that allows Cubase, Reaper and Live to run on OS X.

That should sort things out once an for all

For my workflow and requirements, REAPER has succeeded. In all honesty, if a decent engineer cannot make professional music using REAPER, he (or she) isn't a decent engineer!!

For starters, and to make it fair, they should all be forced to use the same major version numbering.

It's not fair to have FLStudio 12 but only Studio One 2.5, Cubase 7.5 and Logic X.

I believe actually they recorded it with two 4-track machines

As for the question of the topic...I have been asking myself this a lot lately. 64 bit was important but now I ask myself what they could come up with next I cant live without. I haven't bought any gear in along time, right now I dont even look for gear right now, in fact you might say at this time I have run out of GAS. Samplitude as not been upgraded in a long time and I'm not in a rush for an upgrade, I likely wont upgrade for months after anyhow (that's been my way with Samp), maybe years...so I wonder myself, "what's next?"

Sure, after you spend a few years fixing the terrible default shortcuts, layout, skin, menu locations and learn sws.

Yes, Two 4 track Studers. The point being, that if we can't make great music with the tools that are out there now, the fault lies with us, not the available tools. When the Beatles did their thing, they not only had limited recording space, but limited access to new sounds, and they basically had to make it up as they went along, with Geoff Emerick's help. Now we have a complete sensory overload in terms of available sounds/fx etc to work with. I don't hear better music coming from them, though. I'd be perfectly happy if the manufacturers of the popular DAWs just fixed the various bugs that seem to travel forward from version to version. I am lucky to have had only minimal problems with Logic. BTW, even the stock sounds and instruments in Logic are perfectly useable to make great music. The main issue, again, is 'garbage in, garbage out,' or, 'garbage in, beautifully polished garbage out.'

I just can't see myself wanting anything more than what is already out there in terms of functionality. I just want Logic to play nice with whatever OSX Apple throws at us, and I'll be a happy camper.

+1 i have tried to force myself to like it as it is so well priced, and i have certain worries about what the future holds for logic. But i just really hate it

What will be the next DAW update..?
