Quick check, the new amp is really nice! Not sure what "convolver MKII" brings to the table other than a couple of new IR's.

World is full of great free VST tuners and stomp boxes, why on earth would that be essential for an amp sim? Just put them in front of S-gear and you're good to go. I much rather get new amp model, especially since that Tweed 57 seems REALLY nice and smokes my amplitube tweed by a long long mile. Also I really like that mic positioning interface from new convolver. Also, it is cool that the individual IRs aren't "faded" but stepped so you get good controllable results without any possible phase problems etc. I've been using Nebula cab programs for cab simulation with S-gear but I have a feeling I'm gonna use mostly S-gear's own stuff from now on.

Great update! And free, man this is beautiful service. Wayfarer was great update but for me this is even better. Now some real spring verb and Let's go trippin'!

For one thing, the told me flat out a couple of years ago it was "high" on their list

Anyways, I think the convo II is better, but since I don't have a side by side I don't know for sure. Some cabs have the newfangled stuff, some don't.

The new amp sounds nice though. Free updates are very generous.

Yes Sir..That 57 Tweed is a great sounding amp...

The Scuffham amp models are dynamic and have got "life" in them...

S-Gear is the best one I've heard so far...

S-Gear is the best modeler I've tried so far. I have not played through a Kemper or an Axefx, but I tried most of the others. S-Gear is good enough to use exclusively...and I'm thinking about it. I hate the idea of lugging a laptop and interface around with me though. I wish Atomic would have used S-Gear (Studio Devil should be good too) for their Amplifire that's coming out someday.

I think the amps sound great, but I still don't quite get the convo II. I thought it was supposed to be "easier". I have redwirez big box and to try and work with the number of convolution files in that little tiny user list is terrible. Why can't I add them to the preset list? Hell, why don't they just show up there after they are imported instead of the user list.

Other than that rant, S-Gear is great.

The convolver II is kinda strange. My thoughts:

-I'm guessing that it sounds no different with the cabinets that are rewirez? But seems it does

-Their own ir's with the special mic spacing in intriguing, but I'm not sure what I'm doing with it.
-drag drop convolver seems to work though.

It's not modeled on a specific tweed amp, just Mike's take on one. It sounds very different from the one in Amplitube. Try it!

The tweed amp is great, even it is no specific model, to me it seems like the sound most people dream of when they buy expensive old fender amps, bright but not harsh, dynamic and clean, but also good when distorted.
