Hi all,
For experimentalists out there, we've just released a new soft synth at Darwin Arts which lets you use Darwinian Evolution to create new modular synthesis audio patches. This is a freeware beta edition that anyone can download from our web site: http://www.darwinarts.com. Please visit for details, latest news, and knarly sounds.
Once I personally get over a rash of writers' block and can get the scripts written, we'll also be releasing a few tutorial videos, but in the mean time the synth ships with a full html user guide.
All the best,
kasjonc

Means only available for Mac?After nearly two years of hard work and learning about OSX development, Darwin Arts is proud to announce the Trilobite 0.9.3 Free Beta Edition!
Fair enough that, but I ask as one have to create an account to be able to download, and I would rather not do that if there is no Windows version to download.

Apparently not:
Although Windows appears to be 32 bit only, from what I can see.
From this URL: http://www.darwinarts.com/8-2/products/Available for Macintosh OSX as well as Microsoft Windows

A synth based on the darwinian evolution?!?
Funny... it was my profession when I worked.
So... may I ask to a connoisseur: what are the autapomorphies of this synth, please?

Hi BlackWinny,
I tried to put together what I thought was a well-framed response to this question, but the KVR spam filter wouldn't let me post it (probably because it would have been only my second post on these forums). You can see my response at http://www.darwinarts.com/8-2/news-and- ... #postid-45.
Thanks for a very good question, especially since it forced me to put some unconscious thoughts to words.

Ah so the evolution of evolvability - this seems to be one of the hallmarks of biological evolution too and modularity is one of the key mechanisms (I don't know if you have read Kirschner and Gerhardt?)kasjonc wrote:Hi BlackWinny,

Has anyone got sound out of it? I load bank, then grab a preset and put it on the right, that's as far as I got.

Hmm pressing play give me access to C1, I guess I'll practice my one-note solos.
