Lol, no one knows what these Bitwig guys are up to. It's a joke.

Agreed. I'm using Intro. Got it with my Push controller & so far I'm using it like I use Maschine.... it's an instrument, not a studio (for me).
The only thing I have issue with is saying that Bitwig is a total rip off because new it's ~$30 less than Live 9 Suite used.

Compare used to used then. Absolute best price I've see on bitwig is $300 used, and $350 for suite. 'Normal' going price for bitwig seems to be around $350 and $425 for suite.thunderkyss wrote: The only thing I have issue with is saying that Bitwig is a total rip off because new it's ~$30 less than Live 9 Suite used.
No matter which way you frame it, the included extras in Live 9 Suite are worth much more than all of bitwig's offering. You could pick any 4 of many items included in Live Suite and they are items that typically sell for more than bitwig is sold for.
I've explained my reasoning and it would be helpful if you did more than just say that you disagree.

What? They've released 10 updates to bitwig since March 26th.Dazed Veins wrote:Lol, no one knows what these Bitwig guys are up to. It's a joke.
They also have a forum right here on KVR where there are employees interacting daily with the community.

Since getting a Surface Pro 3 I've been using Buzz, and it feels like coming home. I haven't even installed Live 9 Suite, yet >.>
Oh Buzz, how I have missed thee all these long years.

Just because that is true for you, does not mean it is true for everyone... someone may value the ability to use both 32 and 64 bit plug-ins together more than what Live Suite offers... or per note expression, or other Bitwig features.HobbyCore wrote:No matter which way you frame it, the included extras in Live 9 Suite are worth much more than all of bitwig's offering.

comparatively, Bitwig is a complete ripoff FOR YOU... and that is fine... but you are claiming such a valuation as objective fact and it isn't...HobbyCore wrote:pdxindy wrote:Just because that is true for you, does not mean it is true for everyone... someone may value the ability to use both 32 and 64 bit plug-ins together more than what Live Suite offers... or per note expression, or other Bitwig features.HobbyCore wrote:No matter which way you frame it, the included extras in Live 9 Suite are worth much more than all of bitwig's offering.![]()

Actually I'm trying the Bitwig demo now - I like the modulation system very much - wish other DAWS had something so unified. However the transport is weird, no pause, FW or RW buttons.

And that is the fatal flaw. What I mean is, that for all the things bitwig is good at, there are a few wtf moments. I can't remember all of them. Some people really like it, and I'm sure they've nailed out quite a few of the bugs.

I don't know about fatal - I'm just wondering if they are available somewhere (maybe you can customise it?) - seems a strange omission otherwise.
The demo is surprisingly liberal.

It has some nice touches though, I particularly like the fact that it runs the plugin scan as a background process meaning you can get up and running straight away without waiting for it to complete. It is very like Live in many ways though, can't believe they got away with that.
edit - god the included instruments and fx are very basic though! - nothing to compete with Live there, again I don't think the price is justified at this point, it needs to mature. The best thing for me is the modulation - so easy to use.
