Hi there!
I would like to share my first SynthEdit creation. A simple Bass drum synth called (simply) "BeeDee" 8)
I will apreciate any comments and/or hints.
On the other side, I would like to ask a question... I wonder how to play a certain envelope after pressing a key. I mean, when you DL my file, you'll see that sound may vary when you siply hit the key or when you hold it for a while. (Which is odd for a drum synth, am I right? :? ) Thanx for help in advance. Bear in mind, it's my first SE creature ever :)
In time, I would like to harwire a companion to Drumatic, ErsDrums or Psydrums. (Is there any other free SE drum synth I forgot to mention?) We'll see...

Oh, the file is right over there...

...zipfile doesnt work :( incomplete?!

Post

Worked here. Trying now.

Oh and you forgot this synthedit drum machine: Puff n pys http://www.kvr-vst.com/get/1042.html

I have insider info that it will be updated, reskinned and re-released at some point, hopefully soon, under a new name.

Also Ersdrums isn't Synthedit. None of Andreas Erssons stuff is.

Post

It works fine in tracktion and Energy XT. Nice first attempt UnionS8. Not sure how useful it is at the moment, could do with something to give it character. Perhaps some distortion/Saturation? Or maybe a filter? Or Eq? All of the above?

Post

Well i know it hasn't a strong character (yet). But i was so proud about my first machine, i had to put it here and show it to you :) In the future I would like to add some features alowing some "Autechrish" IDM sounds. It means distortion, LFO modulation, maybe phaser/flanger... And of course my own skin  Lot of work to do.
I forgot to thank all the people around SynthEdit for their work in the first post... So. Thank you :P

Using a standard SE envelope, set sustain to 0, and connect the same knob to decay & release. This will give an AD envelope that will respond in the same way to notes of any length.

:)

Well, the "BeeDee" turned into brave new "IDD".
Now 2 DCO's, selectable waveforms, LFO modulation of several params, FM, AM, Moog Filter. The device sounds much better now, but I'm still hardly working.
Thanxs to platinumears for the help with envelopes.

Checking it out now.

Oh...I like this...thanks again.

tried this out last night. tricky!! :D this makes some really neat sounds. I wonder if you feel like putting a few of them together into a multiout monoph0nic machine? that would be 'ragious!!!!

(yes, I do mean monophonic - I don't find enough drum synths with that kind of action and it can be really useful)

Yes, that's exactly what i'm going to do next. I have some slight improvements in mind (panning, more LFOs,...). I think three of them shold be fine, since i've got some ideas of a new module. There will be three these modules and three of the second kind. (or maybe 2+2, 4+4, 3+2,... :) ) Or do you people think, it's better to leave them as they are (single) and everyone can load as many modules as desires?

Updated 29.06.2004
I think, solo module is done. Now i'll start code the whole mashine with a few these modules. IDD is capable of some interesting drum sounds/elektro FXs.
Added an original skin made by me too.
I hope, you'll like it.
