I'm an acoustic guitarist, I often wonder why loop pedals are so expensive, it doesn't seen like what they do is very complex...
But anyway, that got me to thinking, would it be so hard to make a vst model of a looper pedal? (like the boomerang lll for example), you'd just assign what would be a foot pedal to a controller key or a drumpad or what-ever.
Maybe this already exists?
Cheers.

Not on KVR yet (first attempt at uploading failed), but my company just released a full-featured live looping plugin. Intro special $5 (5/19/2017). Price then going up to $20.

Prodyon Livemachine (32 bit abandonware, I'm trying to throw money at the author to get a license for myself, but I can't find him). If I can get all the proper permissions, I'd glady transform Livemachine for free public access by hand.

ImageLine Delay Bank VST - ... 99 bucks... half your bpm to double the buffer length (repeat as required) and run all relative bpms simultaneously...
This is an ace in the hole as loopers go... 8 LOOPERS! just set the feedback volume to 100%... small footprint.. expandable by bpm, time is decimal (0-1 bar).. The Juice Pack is a contender in my view as a practical VST toolkit. Beautiful little gem.

Many DELAYs can be utilized as loopers if the plugin is written to allow the feature.. feedback needs to be clean as to not degrade the signal. Delay Bank was a surprise to me, a solution that was there the whole time. Thank you ImageLine for that.

Mainstage is hard to beat if you're a Mac person, but seeing you said VST you're probably not... it's cheap as and has all logic instruments. I'm doing gigs with guitar and some keys and drum machine stuff, all with mainstage, with 3 different loops controlled by a home made foot controller. I play electric going through Amplitube.
As well as record/overdub and record/play modes, I have a record/stop thing, so I can maybe record a pattern as an intro, hit stop and play live for a while then play the pre recorded loop and solo over it or whatever. and with 3 loops you can switch between different song sections which is nice.
Definitely worth trying a software solution of some kind IMHO. I also played around with Mobius loop a bit. That's a little scarier but very powerful. By the way, the foot controller I made is mechanical, its a wood/mdf thing built around a korg nanopad, and has 4 rows of 4 buttons that press down on the pads of the nanopad. v cheap and fairly easy to built, no crazy midi knowledge required

Nice looking Plug-ins + a few Freebies. I don't need a looper but I'll take a peek.aaronleese wrote:Not on KVR yet (first attempt at uploading failed), but my company just released a full-featured live looping plugin. Intro special $5 (5/19/2017). Price then going up to $20.

I was also interested in this, Apparently about to be released soon. There was a thread about it a while ago here... Terrible introductory post but interesting product, with scheduled loops, like a cross between sequencing and looping. Good concept I think but probably not as flexible.
Mac only at the moment it seems though.
