I've currently got my studio set-up with 6" KRK Rokit monitors in a room which measures 4m L x 3m W x 2.5m H.

I'm thinking about upgrading to some 8" Mackie or Adam monitors, but would these be too much for a room of this size? (I'm also planning on getting some acoustic foam panels too btw)

If so, what would be the ideal size room for these size monitors?

Really. I always thought that square rooms are not that great for studios.

Turello was making a joke. No, 8" speakers will do fine in your small space, although they may benefit from being moved back a bit if your current 6" speakers are set close to you. Also be sure to avoid rear-ported speakers in a small room where the speakers may end up close to a rear wall. Go with front-ported or non-ported speakers.

Get ADAM A7X's, that's the one everyone raves about and it won't be too bassy for your room. The Mackie's would be too bassy.
