Under 100 and supporting VST is what you ask?
You can try Tracktion. This has all basic editing. No DX.
The solution to your problem fully does not exist. You must make a way somewhere in your requirement.
N-track satisfies all Without batch processing. This is software full of bugs for some user. Maybe you try and like it!? www.fasoft.com Since this is multitrack you can setup a batch process very easy. Make many tracks with the next wav start where the wav before end. Apply your FX to master channel. This will not do batch processing.
Sawstudio Basic will fill all your needs. This is 300$. It can apply same edit to hundreds of file at once. Support 3 plug-in format. Can be hard to understand at first for some
Very many sample library made are done with this software. Most other are done with software with name Sequoia. It is a hard choice to make!
Good luck!

No Spe3D , version 1.5 know the VST plug-ins ! Just choose the folders where you have installed the VST plug-ins and after refresh you 'll find the plug-ins active in your Effects tab ! So now you don't need an external DX to VST adapter !
It's true , the price is 299 $ ( or 69 $ for upgrade) .

yeah i use Acoustica - after reading the SOS review a few months back i got myself a copy. cheap as hell and does most of the same things that Soundforge does. There are some slight niggles, like there is no single button/keypress for FADE IN or FADE OUT, - CTRL-SHIFT-F goes to a FADE dialog but you have to select which way to go, which is annoying when doing loads of little samples. i don't think there is anything in the way of batch processing either...
plus, it doesn't save MP3s without an extra codec (which i've not managed to get working) but i've put a LAME shortcut on my desktop which i can drag WAVs to for encoding. works a treat.

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Hehe, I did that at first with this thread too with the dx wrapper thing
You are correct about Audition, I must update to get the enhancements to video and the vst support.
