Poll: Do you avoid to buy plugins which can't be transferred? = (NFR: not for resale)

Some plugins are too good to pass up even if they can't be resold.

An example for me would be Microtonic by Sonic Charge. They attempted to allow license transfers but their licensing system just can't deal with it and it apparently causes Sonic Charge way too much work. However, what a great piece of software. Solution = buy it anyway.

I agree with keeping your plugin list down to what you need. I think Microtonic is one of those special plugins.

Another benefit to buying plugins you "need" is you don't ever need to sell them.

If I really want/need something, it doesn't matter. But, frankly, I think I already have what 'I might need', so what's left out there is what 'I might like', in which case, it does matter. As if I don't like it after all, I might sell it.

The term "need" is such a thing.. ..i mean it will change over the years for various reasons or simply other things became important like own family etc. but you have spend alot (a l o t!) money for your passion.. ..now if you had only bought hardware in the past that you can easily sell now.. ..or at least some plugins which are transferable.

I grab whatever I need. If it turns NFR, so be it.

Same with regular licenses. Try to sell something through KVR/GearSlutz's Market Place and see if you can get back at least 30-40% of what you once paid for the tools. Not going to happen - you're even scolded for even asking that price.

If I have had the chance to demo it first, then I will.
If I have not then I wont take the risk, knowing that I might be stuck with it.

If everybody would think the same way we would not have any 2nd hand culture, very poor if you ask me.
