Dude, I'm gonna be so proud to say I knew you when you're a big movie soundtrack composer. Send this to Hans Zimmer!!!
Thanks very much for listening and for the great comments, osiris. Glad you liked it :)

The mastering is just the icing on here. The bulk of the sonic tweaking was done with Eos and the EQ in EnergyXT during the mixing process, followed with an application of Satin on the master bus. Then I transferred the resulting wav into T-Racks for final mastering, using a tweaked factory preset.

This is superb.
Relaxing and yet eerie and menacing.

Bravo my man.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

I like how every sound seems essential to the music, every note too. Athough I have to admit the 4:10 mark had me going 'huh?', makes more sense the more I try it :)
These tunes are just an escapist pursuit for me. They help me to forget the intensity and stress of the day job for a while  Mind you, sometimes the recording sessions can become quite involving too.

Thanks very much for listening and for the great comments, Jesse. Glad you liked it, and I think that breakdown probably does make more sense after a few listens :)

layzer wrote:nice one, tim... great theatrical intro that gets into some funky percussion. i like the rolling, knocking sounds you seem to slip into your tracks now and then. very cool. then the twinkly piano just floated in effortlessy. made for good late night listening :phones:
Thanks very much for the listen and the cool comments, layzer. The piano section is the same pattern played through a Pro-53 harp patch and a slightly tweaked Synth1 arp, iirc.

Glad you liked it :)

Allomerus wrote:Huge track with lots of drama! Definitely a choice track for a movie. Awesome ominous start and the drums are great, add beautifully to the sense of doom...! Reminds me a bit of the 'planets' by Holst at times! The change in the middle was great before the powerful and urgent end section.

Great stuff Tim! :)
Thanks very much for the listen and the great comments, John. Glad you liked it :D

I quite enjoyed going over to the "dark side" for this one. There are a couple of places later in the track that I really like where the drums sound like they have tripped over themselves. I can definitely hear a Mars/The Devil's Triangle influence on here. Glad you liked the breakdown section. I was originally worried that it might be a little "twee", but I think it worked out ok.

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

I wanted to give the melodic elements as much room as possible to "stretch out" with that Eos reverb, so kept them as simple as possible. It was a strategy that seemed help to build the atmosphere of the track.
