You are depressing me, so I did something to depress you too. :)

Searching for Lenin

It was inspired by some great student film by R. Jason Ball, so naturally it is yet another filmy type synthy orchestrated thingy featuring even more cheap strings and some Ian web synths.

My last filmy thingy for this week before I change to..... a new folky geetary thingy inspired by djones's thread about folky thingies. Watch this space (or some other varied space for my attempt at becoming the new Dylan of the underworld

PS. OK you did not depress me. It was my boss. He's from far away eastern country where they do not have the western tongue as natural speak and tend to be very direct and use abusive speak towards inferiors.

[edit: and my freekin' spell checker is depressing me even more]

sound good to me!

maybe i am gonna depress you now if your goin all folky as this is my fave track of yours ive heard 8)
i imagine a journey on horseback across open plains by a shaman and his apprentice.taking the apprentice on his coming of age journey where he will hopefully pass the tests and become a shaman in his own right 8)

Thanks for the feedback guys. Thanks vurt you are NOT depressing me. You are making me feel very great saying you like this track. I just may have to postpone the underworld idea... but then I started working on some track outline...but then, it won't be the first song that end in a dustbin :D

Thank you very much. I feel much better now and I will forgive the J-gent for being nasty yesterday. :)

PS. And b.t.w. vurt, the vurtbox was one of the synths used. Real great synth dedicated to the master of ambient atonal. I just have to figure out all the controls. In this track I used the vurt-U-want preset.

The other synth used from Ian is the Gargoyle. Also a great synth for this type of stuff.

And I thought my cat was crying in a corner somewhere. This is one heck of a track man. I cannot grasp it in the sense of form or feel as it tends to go through the entire spectrum, and in its 3 mins tells a huge tale.

Top notch and not depressing on this end.

i dig it a lot

the strings don't sound cheap to me? :-o
they are really good.

i think you made a pretty good job as the orchestra is really convincing.

a bit too much reverb maybe?

the music is outstanding.

very gooooood 8)

Thanks for the positive comments :D Yeah, the cat crying part is where the sory is supposed to take a twist (the Lenin spy almost got caught).

Glad you think the strings are more convincing. The reverb might be a bit too much. I used Revalver's reverb, which is nice because it has a "presence" setting. Works well on any pad sounds, but I might have to be carefull not to overuse it.

This is really fine. Probably the best track I have heard from you, Sepheritoh.
In the past, I have always found that your desire to strum a few chords on your guitar has intruded into some of your tracks, as I said in my review of your track for the May competition. (thought you were about to do it again there at 1:27 )
This is much more delicate and really sounds better for it.
Great varied instrumentation. More please! :D

Thanks guys. I am really surprised (and highly pleased) with the positive reaction here. I am humbled.

PS: the jgent is my boss who shat on my head on tuesday because he thought I screwed up. I did not think so though. Anyway, that's the past.

Miro, I'll be taking your comment very serious. I want to think more about what I'm doing and be less self-indulgent. Everything got it's place.
