Here's a selection of untreated (tho topped and tailed) samples of the excellent hardware sound module - the Philips Elance 3030.

These were all recorded into my MD walkman thru a £5 PC microphone. Visit this thread in the music cafe to hear an example of what is possible with these samples. I hope it inspires people to get creative.

Here's the link to the RAR archive of WAV files.

(btw thanks vurt for hosting!)

NOTE: obviously these samples can be used in an infinite variety of ways, but you can use them as they are just by applying some EQ. you'll notice that they are fairly noisey/hissy, but you can EQ them to taste as and when you come to use them. Tracktion in particular is excellent for this as you can put an EQ on an individual sample (and that is the program i use). my track ironingBored just uses EQ and some phaser. resynthesise them. stretch them. do what you like. post anything you make with them and make me happy :)

BTW, does anyone know any good emulation of the Phillichorda? :) You know, the little organ from the early 70's, not a coffee machine...
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

Nice samples ;o)
I also like "ironing bored", cool idea. Now we should all just start sampling some household tools.

The only thing I can serve is samples from Rolands OrganStrings 09,the most cheesy sounding thing I ever came across.
There's a little history behind it: Back when I got that thing I had no keyboard and thought having anything featuring keys would be better than having nothing. If that was true is questionable...
Anyways, I ended up using it as a practise tool. Thing is, it obviously has no sustain pedal, so what I used to do was some little pieces of paper, folded so that I could stick them between the keys to keep them down. I was then just doing a "sticky" A min or so (hey, what else would you expect from a guitar player?), pressed start on the Drumulator I had back then (and which I sold, unfortunately) and noodled around for ages... not that my parents would have an exceptionally educated sense for music, but you may guess what they thought of their miserable, apparently drug-laden son.

Anyways, here's them samples, in case anybody needs something cheesy:

(all 5 patches contain 5 octaves of Cs, looppoints are set allready, notenames should be proper as well. In case anybody would want it, the appropriate EXS mappings are included too).
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

wow, that's the exact same iron I've got!

i didn't realise it was regarded as a classic!

maybe i can sell it on ebay to some collector...
