Update on Largo automation issues. Disabling Cubase's "Quick Controls" for Cutoff allows Largo to remember its setting on project load. It's a Quick Controls related issue.
The use-case is setting Quick Controls to manage Largo's Cutoff knob, but not reading/writing automation, just manually adjusting the QC slider in Cubase to any value; saving the project; reloading and the QC slider is set to some other value. Strangely, Largo does remember its last value. It's QC that's not remembering.
I need to do more testing to see how other synths handle this use-case.
The workaround is to simply enable Read and Write some QC automation for the Cutoff -- Largo will respond and also "chase" whatever the last value was, as expected (Quick Control's Read/Write, which is separate from the Channel's Read/Write).
Largo's Resonance and Drive, however, do not respond to any automation. Not the QC mapped automation or standard automation in Cubase. I have not tested with other DAWs yet.
Super bummed about Resonance and Drive not automating, I've got a Largo preset in a techno track, in its early stages, that really needs those things automated as a main component of the song's build.
I'm trying to get a similar effect with another filter after it, but it's not the same. I'll have to play it live and record the output, but not happy about that for a bunch of reasons (a massive 2048 buffer to run a ton bus effects, needing to be dismantled, is the main one
).
Since Largo is all about that gorgeous drive, I hope this is near the top of the buglist todo!

Does anyone else get this problem when trying to load a saved Logic Pro 9 song that has instances of PPG Wave 3.v loaded? It doesn't finish loading the PPG. It gets stuck at this phase and I have to force quit Logic. It doesn't happen all the time, though. After I force-close Logic and re-open it it works. It's annoying as hell.

Another issue with Largo's automation is that Cubase Quick Control isn't able to remember the renaming of Largo's parameters on project reload.
E.g., Lexicon PCM Native's "Mix" shows as "Mix" and can be renamed in QC to, say, "Lexicon Mix" which will show when the project is reloaded.
With Largo, "Largo - F1 Cutoff" is what the cutoff defaults to. If renamed in Cubase's Quick Control slot to something like "Largo Cutoff" it's lost when the project is reloaded and reverts to "Largo - F1 Cutoff".
All my other plugins across many different 3rd party developers are renaming and restoring fine in the same project and indeed same QC slots group. So it's for sure a Largo issue.

Please write an email to Waldorf support and you should receive a new serial then:whyterabbyt wrote:Can someone remind me how one gets a 'new' style license for the old boxed Waldorf Edition? Ive scoured their site for a link and cant find owt.

Usually it could be necessary to provide a proof for the purchase of the old boxed Waldorf Edition.

Yeah, it was through their store, I'll have the email. I should still have the W.E. box if not, its just a question of where...Ingonator wrote:If you have a proof for that purchase i guess yes. An AUpreset file was provided by aMUSEd now and i added this to my ZIP file.Ingonator wrote:Hi,

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 3#p5843263
This means the patches are available in those formats now:
*.fxb (PPG 2.V VST2 plugin), *.fxp (PPG 2.V VST2 plugin), *.fxb (PPG 3.V plugin), *.vstpreset (PPG 2.V VST3 plugin), *.tfx (PPG 2.V AAX plugin), *.aupreset (PPG 2.V AU plugin)
Here is the direct link for the ZIP file:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/532 ... %203.V.zip
The fxb and fxp files could be imported to the VST3 and AAX plugin by drag & drop from the file browser (e.g. Windows Explorer). Like already mentioned the host has to be started without administrator rights for the drag & drop feature. After the import or with the corresponding files provided with the download the administrator rights could be added again.
Besides having fun doing those patches this was also good for testing certain things with the current updates (especially the export of different file formats). Anyway for doing this properly the patches have to be first created in fxb/fxp format.

The bug is reported but currently we are working on fixing PPG Wave 3.V. Trying to fix all plugins at once will just lead to trouble.Tuth wrote:The Arpeggiator still not worx well. Waldorf just released new installers for Largo RC4 and PPG Wave 3.V RC3 at their website:
Largo: http://www.waldorf-music.info/downloads-largo
PPG Wave 3.V: http://www.waldorf-music.info/downloadsppg3
I am currently testing those myself. Most of the reported bugs in our lists seem to be solved.
For example those problems seem to be fixed:
- Problem with multi programs in the VST3 + AAX plugins of PPG 3.V (only MIDi channel 1 was available)
- knob behavior in VST3 + AAX plugin changed to linear (was already linear with VST2) : for both Largo + PPG Wave 3.V
- Problem with Arp patterns in Largo (VST2/VST3) : In all parts the pattern of part 1 was played
- No more crashes with VST3 of PPG Wave 3.V when the c:\tset is not available.
