I have sold some items of mine. I wish to buy a laptop interface for myself to take places. Is there an interface that will be powered by the laptop? I will not have plug where I go.

My laptop battery is very good. I only need use for 1 or 2 hour.

Thank you my friends :)

The M-Audio MobilePre is USB powered.

The MobilePre is an audio interface. I guess you're looking to use a card interface, like the Echos?

I misunderstand the product, sorry :) It has bad review all over the internet? I think I have seen to not trust m-audio. I see many problems with their products other people have.

Thank you :) Do you have another idea?

Edirol FA-101 can be powered by Firewire, OR it can use an external power adapter. However, it's a pretty serious card, 10in/10out with XLR preamps, so its most useful for multitrack recording. I'm planning on getting one, myself, when I have the money.

I think we could be more helpful if your needs were more clearly presented. For example, what will you be using this bus powered audio interface for primarily? Playing VST instruments, mixing or monitoring? Or are you actually interested in an audio interface that has Mic preamps and multiple inputs for live recording?

Thank you tronam :)

I wish to use this for midi sequence using EnergyXT. I also will want to do multitrack at home with this. I can best use with 4 inputs. I can do serious multitrack at home. I want to do this a lot with midi.

Preamp would be wonderful too!

I plan on driving to a beautiful beach, and I will work in my car. I have a DC to AC inverter for this too. I do not wish to use it if I do not have to.

This looks very good! Are the drivers good? Anyone who uses this?

It's funny, until reading this thread I've never thought about just how much M-Audio has dominated the usb audio market. The Edirol interfaces & the Novation Remote Audio are the only things I can imagine otherwise that would fit this bill.
