Hello all! I have sited my PC in another room than my music room because I don't want to hear any fans or HD's whizzing there. I now need a 50 foot extension cable for my 17" TFT: is this possible without picture degradation? Any tips or experiences anyone?? Am willing to pay a hefty price for a good cable/solution.

Thats probably too long for just cable, but you can get signal amplifier boxes for use with projectors et.c which would make it feasible, IMO.

Hello Ignace,
It depends if you use a DVI or VGA connection. The VGA solution is most critical. 50 feet with VGA is too much. With high-res screens (1280*1024) you migh not want to go for any longer than 20 feet.
Buy a good quality VGA-cable you can get. They are not all the same

You might consider a repeater indeed.

). Unfortunately, my TFT doesn't have a digital in, so I'm stuck with analog. I'll be needing 1240x1024 so that'll be a bit of a problem. Maybe get myself a repeater of something else to boost the signal. Or maybe there's something to keep my signal digital until I'm close to the monitor.
