Wopelka translated Remco lyrics "Babylon Rise" for me... Thanks Philippe..

This is not a new song.
But I've re-done EVERYTHING.

I specially worked on the Drums part.
What you think of the drums, of the guitares (nylon and electric), and of the overall sound, interests me a lot.(Not the vocal, i have to re-record the voice).

So, no need to understand french to post a feedback... :D

Drums were quite allright, as if they were played quite loosely and a bit clumsy, but it totally fits the atmosphere. The thing I somehow had a bit of problems with was the organ that was panned to the right without really a counter instrument to balance it off; some bass would do good in the left channel I think (but then what do I know)

I also think the accoustic somehow isn't surfacing in the mix whereas the electric is prominently there.

Probably not the most helpful of comments this morning, but as always I like the atmosphere that you create in your tunes :D

hey :hyper:

as for the drums, i think they are excellent.

i love the cello line when you whisper "Babylone etc."

like Mystahr, i think you should review the balance between accoustic and electric guitars.

overall, i love this track and i think the production and arrangement are much better than they were in the original english version.

cheers :)

Thanks a lot for the feedbacks... :)
I'm glad the drums sound good for you...

The nylon guitare was strange when mixed louder.. :?

The idea was to pan right : organ + nylon guitare
and to pan left : electric guitare (louder)...

I'll try different stuff for panning such as centering the organ...

Organ centered, nylon guitare louder, EQ, level changes...

Other feedbacks are more than welcome... :)

beautiful indeed.

i'm at work and can't listen to the track. so i can only give vague impressions.

i heard it yesterday and i found it better than the first version. Good mix.

i guess you recorded the vocals again. the singing is very good.

i'd like to know your Voxformer settings, especially regarding the deesser (maybe you could send me a preset? i haven't found the perfect tweaking yet...)

cheers

ahhh .. le grand monsieur de charmance de kvr ..

your music is always so elegant and "noble", with a lot of french music history backing you up.
And so well sung ..

the sound/timing is a bit confusing, but only slightly .. but i for one would prefer it to have it a bit more proper.

cheers ixox
thanks for the music!

Thanks vurt. I'm glad you liked it. :D

Wopelka, the mix is better thanks to Mystahr and your feedbacks...
I listen to it again this morning, and found the vocal a bit too soft.
I'll try to remember to send you a voformer preset (but i never change the de-esser default.)

Putte, thanks a lot. :D
The sound/timing... :?
I hear what you mean... It seems to me that this is the electric guitare which is not very precise.
Thanks a lot for pointing that out.

:D drums are pefect for the song Ixox. the cello part was awesome - fit perfectly in the song. vocals were superb, although i couldn't understand a one damn word :x

the guitars are still bothering me a bit. i love the sound of the acoustic, but the electric is not my favorite. i think it might still be a bit too loud. that's my only complaint though. wonderful song :D
