Am I missing something or is it normal behavior for DIversion?
Make sure you have the settings as displayed (First Key trigger and Loop off (which is the little icon on the right))
Obviously, Poly mode should be set to legato.

Actually, on second thought, you don't need to turn the loop off if you set the loop such that it's "even", ie, no volume changes within the looped section. Otherwise it will sound weird. Unless of course you want weird. Weird is good.
I forgot how to do this, but figured it out in the meantime. Just drag within the orange area with your mouse.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer, though I don't like this "first key" option which -if I'm not wrong- means the MSEG will never be retriggered. I just want my MSEG to be triggered each time my sequence restart
Pity I can't do that really
[EDIT] It seems I'm wrong, First Key is working as intended
Cheers,
David

Dimension is getting into sample mangling territory. I don't know about Alchemy as I don't own it, but Diversion blows linplug Crx4 out of the water.

Those cello samples sound incredible. As good as the zebra patches (no samples there though). I wonder how many orchestral instruments will end up on that soundbank. I'm very tempted to preorder.

Haha! Kind of true, but isn't it like saying I shouldn't have bought a new pen since I need a bigger desk?

A few ideas on ergonomics (feel free to disregard).

- Opening patches with a single click after clicking the loupe would be best. Now it's either double click or close button, which adds a lot of clicks to a day. Could be optional.

- Marking patches as favorite or junk (like u-he, which I know you like)

- When a sample is selected, we lose the XY pad on the oscillator (same with wavetables). It'd be nice to render the wave there, to make it clear this osc is playing a sample. The space is wasted otherwise. With granular on, it'd be nice to visualize the grains there (like in 'the mangle' synth)

- Diversion is almost a one-page synth. I love flipping persets and seeing how they are programmed on a single view (not hitting tabs). I have many GUI ideas about Diversion showing more on a single page (in my view it beats zebra just because of how tabby zebra is!)

* Right now, I have to click each tab for say LFOs to see is they are on. If the tab changed color when on it'd be great. Same for anything that is on (env, fx, arp

* on this day an age (I have a 2600x 1440 screen) having a larger GUI is not a problem. I can imagine a toggle button that would expand Diversion's length at the bottom, showing optionally:
  • all three hidden tabs at once (fx, mod, arp)
  • all the mod tabs (LFO1, 2, 3, env1, 2 3, MSEG1, 2, 3)
  • all effect guis that are on
... and on the left column, more of the mod matrix (say 18 rows instead of 6).

Hey urlwolf, thanks for suggestions! I added all to my todo list and will use few things for the first future update. It takes time to implement though, but suggestions really good.

Hey Totolitoto, I see you already sorted it, just in the case, in "First Key" mode MSEG/LFO doesn't retrigger only for notes that are played legato. Each non-legato note will retrigger a modulator, so it's a correct mode for sequences.

Sorry, DP.

Dmitry, any news about an update for the Diversion FX? I'm 64 bit only on a Mac, so I can't use the old version :)

No no, I would never say you shouldn't buy Diversion! :)

Hey, I'm finishing a new effect now, which I'd say a kind of successor, but it's much better than DiversionFX was. Unfortunately, it's not a freeware, but it won't cost much for sure. It will come in VST/AU/AAX format both 32/64bits and Mac/Win. It will be released in max two months. DiversionFX can be totally replaced by the new effect.

A few things I notice during the recent weeks while programming my new set for Diversion:

*When editing the Trance Gate starting with from the default setting, moving the Smooth-knob will reset the edited settings back to default, when you load a preset from the library and then move that knob this doesn't happen.

*When switching Bus mode from poly to mono often the sound will drop out and can only be brought back by selecting a different preset (make sure to save your preset before you select a new one).

*Vibrato amount/speed can not be modulated by LFOs, only by MSEGs, when you choose an LFO to do that, strange things can occur.

*When introducing FM/RM to Osc 1 in unison mode the FM/RM effect will only be audible on the left side of the stereo picture as long as you have 2 or 3 unison voices selected, when you choose 4 and more voices the signal gets even again.
