Another PERIOD.
Dont you get that Syntilla isnt the developer of MeekPro?

And FWIW, what he's saying doesnt read like he's begging for points for MeekPro, it sounds more like he's asking people to boycott the TDR entry. That might sound unreasonable, of course, but in essence, its not that removed from what FabienTDR did in the first place regarding MeekPro, albeit publically tied to the DC.

If people want to ask others to vote on the DC based on 'political' stances, though, I guess that's up to them until Ben says otherwise.

^ TDR don't have a entry, do they?

But this is silly. I'm supposed to give five points to a contest entry because it's named after a depressed person? What about the actual merits of the software in question? I think it's good, but not worth five points, and definitely not worth five points as per the OP. Syntilla, please do tell me how I'm influenced by Joe Meek's works.

Post

But then if you just don't like the political opinion of Fabien, why don't you simply write him a PM, Syntilla?

Why should people vote for MeekPro just because Fabien doesn't like murderers? :dog:

Thanks, whyterabbyt, for doing me the inestimable courtesy of actually reading what I posted.

Last DC a couple of KVRers (I won't name names, for obvious reasons) were brave enough to discuss publicly the struggles they were facing with depression.
A very great many others here suffer in silence.
In nearly four decades working in the arts and media, I have lost far too many good friends to the ravages of mental illness - directly or consequentially through their desperate attempts to 'self medicate'.
And volunteering with a number of organisations dealing with the (not unrelated) problems of mental health, homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, disability and educational difficulties, I know only too well the general public indifference - if not downright hostility - towards people with serious problems not of their own making.

You're right - I don't much care how people vote - whether it's for what they perceive as the 'best quality', the most innovative, the most fun, most useful, the best developer support, or simply their favorite developer. (Incidentally, I don't think TDR has an entry this time around - though, yeah, I probably would be encouraging people to boycott it. Would that be so much worse a reason for [not-] voting than any of the others I listed?)
I started this thread simply to highlight the kind of vile bigotry that many among us rightly fear should they ever make their own suffering known.
I would like to see it stamped out - and regard it as my (and everyone else's) duty to confront it where and whenever it appears.

Now that's a really good question. And the answer tells a lot about the ops intentions.

I DID NOT PARTICIPATE. Good morning.

Hallucinating about what?
Where did I ever suggest that you were participating?
It's not your 'entry', but your vile opinions I object to.

So basically, OP is asking for reparations to be paid to a plugin unrelated to the 'target' of the 'slander'?
o.O

If there is a separate poll for worst looking GUI, MeekPro would top my list

You do realise that when you edit a post to try and make yourself look less ridiculous, people can see that it's been edited?

Most useless Dc14 thread ever...

Better than his last entry, though, I think we've agreed.

I was aware of that AFTER I posted.

Finally I can correct you this time around.

TokyoDawn Records did NOT join the DC2014.
vladg did, which is a part of TDR now - but it's still his own entry.

Still - it's apples and oranges.
Here are users trying to defend a plugin (which isn't even good IMO) on the behalf of FabienTDR making a comment towards Joe Meek (the person).

Shooting with cannon on sparrows I assume?

whyterabbyt wrote:If people want to ask others to vote on the DC based on 'political' stances, though, I guess that's up to them until Ben says otherwise.
If that happens - what's next? Vote for a plugin because it's defending certain fractions rights?
If that will be the case - the Developer Challenge lost all it's purpose.

Remember the Eurovision where is was said to NOT focus on political statements? Yet what did it do the last two decades?!

Syntilla wrote:It's not your 'entry', but your vile opinions I object to.
Then make a statement somewhere else - in HTC for example. Because this is nothing else but influencing other users on behalf of your scarred pride!

Actually, your "depression" comment is also clearly aiming at OT and borderline HPC.

Seriously... what is this?!
