Picked it up... Very fat indeed and well easy to use. Kind of reminds me of a bigger predator.
It's great these guys are not making plugins for different DAWS - They can only get bigger and better.

Very nice, i thought i'd seen them all.db3 wrote:
The smart and randomise functions seem very well implemented. Does sound very analog, i thought it was primarily designed for more aggressive sounds but lots of nice sounds in there. Overall what's the cpu hit like; similar to Diva and Synth Squad?

I think this was the deal of the Century, 49 for Vacuum and then 129 for the whole collection, YAY!

Seems like Vacuum can't have more than 5 voices of polyphony, and Loom not more than 6? Hmmm... Doesn't anyone find that a tiny bit limiting? :/

Don't know about Synth squad, perhaps similar to Diva in "great" mode. Really depends on the patch...also note that Vacuum can run 2 different parts at the same time and has doubling & eco options. I really like the saturated tone and the filters sound great.musikmachine wrote:Does sound very analog, i thought it was primarily designed for more aggressive sounds but lots of nice sounds in there. I like the sound of Vacuum and Diva equally.
@ EvilDragon
Vacuum is up to 6 voices.

Still JUST 6... (the video you linked to above has a max of 5 voices in that dropdown menu in top right). Today's CPUs are fast and can do a lot, they should give us at least 16 voices, I think

What am I missing? Maybe if I didn't have another plug in... these all seem good, but I feel they're "Me too" plug ins. Is there anything that really makes these special that the demo tracks aren't illustrating?

I would say the random feature and being able to layer the sounds makes this more interesting immediately. The main section lets you lock certain elements than layer or randomize the remaining elements. Some cool stuff going on. And well, it sounds good too. It's kind of an embarassment of riches to get Loom and VP for $99. Yikes.

It seems to be a very nice synth. I remember messing around not with Vacuum, but with Hybrid on Pro Tools and i was able to make some very interesting sounds with it.
It seemed like a very capable synth too. I would´t mind having it (or both
) but i have enough synths already, cannot justify buying more.
There is always something nice ready to appear around the corner...

Just upgraded from Loom to the instrument expansion pack.
I really didn't need anymore soft synths but I couldn't resist
I gotta say I'm very surprised and happy with this package.
Very good sound quality and some nice features that I haven't seen on other synths before.
I'd say Hybrid , Vacuum Pro and Loom are in the same quality category as Synth Squad , Lush 101 , Diva and Dune 2

Actually ....if I had to pick 3 soft synths it would be Vacuum Pro for "analog" sounds , Hybrid for wavetable/VA and Loom for "futuristic" stuff.
I'm going to unplug my hardware and see if I can make some cool records with just these.
Strike and Transfuser are pretty cool too , nothing shocking but still very useful.
