One of the things I love about this DAW, out of many, is that it is not full of bloat. I don't have to pay for a bunch of crap I don't want. Just would like to see improvements to the actual DAW. I really rather not see any plugs or synths added.

The spectrum meter in there does it also but it's a split screen, not an overlay.Novalis wrote:I was looking for quite some time for an Analyser which can do this, and it's right there inside my DAW... hilarious.

Maybe some news on September 2.?
I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

I frequented the forum when I had S1. I remember it being an overall positive place, but has it really gone downhill? I sold S1, and haven't been in over two years. I actually regret selling it. I LOVE Cubase 7, but I loved the workflow I through in S1. (Not to say that C7 has a bad workflow or anything, but there was just that extra SOMETHING about S1) I actually bought S1 Artist during that $5 sale they had going a few months back, just for the SOLE PURPOSE of upgrading either back to Producer, or even better Professional.hibidy wrote:I'm not naming names, I'm just saying all the joy was sucked out. I hope it is S3. Workflow should be the focus these days. No more bundled software synths, just workflow.

It may not be hugely overloaded with addons but for a newish host it doesn't feel particularly streamlined to me - it's one of the slowest hosts on my system to startup (only Logic is slower) and takes up the most memory and cpu, and is particularly sluggish and unresponsive when recording automation.ATS wrote:One of the things I love about this DAW, out of many, is that it is not full of bloat.

I didn't find that... Works well for me.aMUSEd wrote:It may not be hugely overloaded with addons but for a newish host it doesn't feel particularly streamlined to me - it's one of the slowest hosts on my system to startup (only Logic is slower) and takes up the most memory and cpu, and is particularly sluggish and unresponsive when recording automation.ATS wrote:One of the things I love about this DAW, out of many, is that it is not full of bloat.

I think I'll just leave it at this. Sometimes, when people get power/have power, they abuse it.xphen0m wrote:I frequented the forum when I had S1. Anyways, the joy out of luck club has said it's not going to be V3 so I think I'll wait until the 2nd, and then see what it is.

"We".throst wrote:hope its v3, we need some new instruments, a drum synth particularly, major updates to current ones, independent duplicate function.
I don't need any of those things, and I would be pretty annoyed if they messed around with the instruments without greatly improving the general workflow attributes of the software.

Agreed - I would be quite happy if they had no extra content but just optimisations, and better automation (and if it could remember my midi interfaces between sessions would be good too).HobbyCore wrote:"We".throst wrote:hope its v3, we need some new instruments, a drum synth particularly, major updates to current ones, independent duplicate function.

Are you talking about with Melodyne'd bits? Everything else is already optionally independent or grouped for editing.throst wrote:... we need ... <snip> ... independent duplicate function ... <snip>...
As already stated multiple times in multiple places ... it appears to be the case that the odds of this Sept 2 thing being v3 are somewhere between slim and none... leaning way towards "none".hope its v3
Of course, I'd be as happy as the rest if that turned out to be true. I doubt it.
