Alphaville at the begining was Myself, Frank Mertens (later replaced by Rick Echolette) and Marian Gold. "We" all composed the music together. Sometimes we also worked with a lyricists called Janey Diamond, but mostly we as a group crafted the songs. I left the group in 2003 although I stopped being involved after the release of the Dreamscapes boxset in 1999.
OK, so you are BL, thanks Wiki :hihi: Are you also German? Your name doesn't sound German 8)
Ah, you have discovered another flaw in his argument.

Lloyd as you probably know is a Welsh name. Bertrand's (that is his real name - don't laugh) mother was from Penclawdd. Born in Port Talbot. Not ashamed of it. but don't forget, we are dealing with an imposter here.

In fact, Bertrand's real name is Brin: http://www.behindthename.com/name/brin

Brin Jones!

His family are very impressed. Well, a bit ashamed too, but you know...

Said sister Gwyneth: Ooh, I don't know, I think i's quite clever reely. Tu fool all those dull English people, that he might be what was it? German? Vell, thas clever innit? Our Brin looks nothing like a German.....

......

A Welsh German was taken to the dock. No one knew his name. Sometimes he would cock his ear when some one shouted out 'Brin', 'Brin', 'Brin', a la Alan Partridge.

His last words were: Cymry am Ze Bythen.

He was said to be so confused that there was no consoling him.

Still. fluffy_little_something stood at the gate chucking rotten tomatoes at him. Shouting 'heretic - burn him - he is an imposter - '.

fluffy little something also had to be led away, and ironically enough, inhabited a cell not too far away from Brin(Bertrand) LLoyd.

But that is another whole other story pop pickers.

Tune in next time. For the strange adventures of Alphaville. The stories of a pop Ghost. Or, how I learned to love my haters and get my life back, by Brin Lloyd - Welsh German imposter.

Hello.

I do have to say what a very interesting thread concerning forever young has turned out to be. I turn up to find posts from someone who classifies himself as a friend and find nothing but childish, crap, nonsense written about me, it is a very sad and pathetic world when a former member of a pop group is made a target of.

Some people may find this kind of humour to be funny and no doubt you have given the KVR community something to have a laugh about at the expense of someone else. If only I could imagine what it would be like if YOU were singled out.

I can imagine how many "Likes" you would get off your so called "Friends" on facebook for posting that kind of thing. I do not know how old you are (I do not care really) but what I do suggest is you get your birth certificate out, work out your age and act it!

Sorry to anyone on here who had genuine questions, but thanks to codec_spurt I am not prepared to be part of a community that has members like him around.

Thank you to all genuine people on here for your words.

If you need anything answering I am sure fluffy_little_something or even codec_spurt can help you out, they have suddenly become self appointed authors of all things related to me.

Bernhard.
Eh Bernhard. Don't take it so hard. Don't be such a f**king drama queen.

Friends?

Well...

You may not like my sense of humour. But it was never spiteful and I defy you to show me one thing you take seriously in what I said? Or that you might think others took seriously.

But hey, I'll but out of your bit of glory, friend.

Sorry to be such an arsehole.

Guess you never really know about people till they get their own thread at KVR, eh?

I mean there are almost 3 million views for "A victory of love" on Youtube :tu:

Close to 8 mill for Dance with me :hyper:

Victory of love has seen thousands of plays on my record/tape/cd/ and now mp3 players.

this is a fan made video. and a good one! very few bands made it into my "all great songs on an album"
list. Alphaville joined PlanetP, kraftwerk, tears for fears, depeche mode, inxs, the cure, the smiths, the church, and OMD on this prestigious list

Is there much of anything you know about? Or is life just a cycle of relentless ignorance in the f_l_s household?

I mean, we could find out how some Alphaville songs were conceived and recorded but it seems we're doomed to read the list of types of music that don't deserve a Synclavier.

I'm very sad to see what this thread has become.

Really not a pride for the KVR community.
Build your life everyday as if you would live for a thousand years. Marvel at the Life everyday as if you would die tomorrow.
I'm now severely diseased since September 2018.

+1
But somehow I'm not surprised.

Have to add that this song, 'Forever Young', is a masterpiece.

This is an unfortunate outcome. For perhaps the first time in my long history at KVR, I'm almost ashamed to be a member here.

Bernhard, there is a mute button to prevent you from seeing posts by certain users. I suggest you use it.

What's your problem? All I said is that I am surprised that they used a Synclavier because it was very expensive and the sound of Alphaville didn't really reflect that in my view. (To me they sounded a bit cheap and plasticky, but hey, that is just my subjective opinion, so why would anyone here care if you all agree that it was oh so great?!)
Maybe I would not have said it if I had known someone from that band was here. But then again, that would not have changed anything about the way I feel about it. Does he really expect to go on a public message board and only encounter praise? The vast majority of posters still seem to like Alphaville, so he should be happy about that instead of acting like a prima donna just because a few people are not that impressed.
He seems to be a friendly guy, but he should grow a thicker skin. I mean, nobody called him any names or anything like I know it from other boards.

Whenever things go to personal level, moderators should interfere. I haven't seen moderators here, but luckily the rest of the community seems to jump in (at times).

People should be extra careful on what they write on a public forum, the jokes that would be ok on closed private situation may be inappropriate in a differnet crowd.
What are you talking about? Care to have the courage of your convictions?

That's some hefty stuff you are throwing around.

Do you need controversy? Was a porcelain god of yours shattered? Who did that?

And why delete your comment. You were only speaking your mind. That was ok here last time I looked. No harm done. Normal service will be resumed soon I am sure.

If it was my arsehole comment, I got it. I can delete it. I can also apologize - no problem. Sometimes, I just ain't funny. In fact, I can be a bit of a prick. Got it. Then Bernd can go back to his thread.

f**k, I am so sorry, you will never know how sorry I am. It won't happen again. But you little chickens are having breakdowns. It is heartbreaking to see.

You need to stop being vague now. Normal service can be resumed very soon. Should I delete my arsehole comment so you can all carry on? Or would you prefer to spiral round in vitriol? Then again, maybe it wasn't me. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I do remember defending Bernd from some other idiot comments earlier. Maybe it got lost in the post.

Sorry Bernd. I really didn't mean to be a prick. But I can see how I was. It hurts me that you think less of me coz I think you are a f**king exceptional human being. Oh well.

I just see a lot of people having a go and I'm a bit upset about it.

But you think I'm an attention whore?

Maybe I should just go and lick my wounds in the corner like a good little doggy.

What the f**k is your point? Do you have one?

Better than name calling?

I ain't called you a name yet, but I am calling you out.

Call me names all you want, or shut the f**k up if you don't have an argument. I am all ears. You are just muddying the waters here.

Go on.
