If we need promotion, we can use the right hand side of the screen to advertise

oh, and we usually do our promotions on our Facebook channel + monthly newsletters, as folks who are interested in our products already follow us through those channels.

wtf?? mods, if it hurts so much, feel free to move the thread. i was quite rare on kvr due to several reasons and wasn't really aware that there's a dedicated forum now...

Not you Brok, it is your thread and its placement here was every bit okay considering your intent (IMO). I think what others are trying to say is that now that it has run its course and the synth has been exposed, you may want to lock it yourself before it turns into a hijack for advertising the synth and not your sound set. And we see that often when those hijacks occur, the thread turns into a quid pro quo derailing completely from your sound set. So in that, I agree your best option is to lock it and announce your set on the other forum.

well, to me it´s completely ok for bülent (kv331) to use this thread for advertising synthmaster, after all it is a set for just that synth (even though i´m quite sure he didn´t mean to advertise it, he´s just very happy with my sounds and proud of what synthmaster can deliver, i would be too in his case

). bulent is a friend of mine, he´s kind of a one man show (if i got that correct) and - and here comes the most important part - i made these presets on _his_ demand. he _bought_ the set and he _owns_ the set, so to me it´s perfectly ok for him to post his opinions here and kinda bump the thread by doing so. however, if someone would try to massively derail the thread, the mods would take action anyway... that´s not to say that i won´t be happy for the people to talk more about the set... in the end, i´m not even able to lock the thread - only mods can do that, unless that hasn´t change with the massive kvr update.

I guess I should have said 'inform' rather than 'instruct'.
I think he was just informing the OP that he could lock the thread too and that 'only the mods could do that' was erroneous. I'm glad he pointed that out personally, because I was informed and immediately tried it on an old thread of mine that had more than ran its course.
Pretty nice feature to not have to hope or depend on an admin IMO.
Whether it is locked or not, I do hope Brok makes a thread to announce his sound set on on the Soundware forum and keep us updated where many of us look for those specifically.
