Let's hope he didn't model the noise in the CZ-1's chorus unit...

hi,
thanks for the kind words, it's been a lot of work and i'm really happy it's coming out soon!
I hope to add proper audio demos in the coming days. You will notice that the current ones on my website/soundcloud are actually from the Max4Live device I made in 2011. VirtualCZ builds on that, modelling the full CZ architecture, with the 8 stage envelopes etc.

Heh..
I have an interesting story of how I got my CZ-101 too, which I guess must have been about 1986/87.
As a wee kid I travelled up to London with my mum to buy a CZ-101 as my birthday present. Got to the west London synth dealer who advertised them, but they had one left, which was reserved (or sold) for another customer. I demoed it anyway and put on a massive sulk... my mum was like "well, maybe you'd like one of these instead..?" pointing to a TR909. Pfft. Who cares about them?
Nah, I had my heart set on a CZ-101... after some arm twisting, and my best pouty-teenager look the sales guy took pity on me and sold it to me anyway - so whoever didn't get their CZ-101 back in the day, I'm sorry... but it was worth it.
I used that CZ-101 to play a piece with the London Sinfonietta a few years later... :hehe:

This blurb from LM says it all, it is a proper emulation of the CZ's, can't wait to here more demos, think this will be my first VST synth purchase of the year, very keen to hear more...Loopmasters wrote:VirtualCZ uses Phase Distortion - which is similar to FM Synthesis but easier to program! It can make great pads, leads, bass, percussion and RAVE ORGAN sounds that will fit into a wide variety of genres.

I'm afraid it will be a very expensive plugin...

Don't worry, there is no introductory discount on that price (i.e. it's not going to get more expensive). That should have been edited out of the press release. There will be a discount for my existing Endless Series customers - i will notify with a coupon code via a mail-out.

Did anyone mention Phasewave by TubeOhm?
I just came across it:

Windows Only. 32bit.

The CZ-101 was my very first synth, and I believe I paid nearly $500 for it back around1985....I remember I took me nearly a year to save up for it with my paper route money.
Very excited to hear about the VirtualCZ.

1) VirtualCZ can send patches to a CZ hardware synth. This is a sysex dump (everything at once). It can also load patches from .syx or .mid files. In a future version i will add a function to directly receive the patch from the hardware.
2) Assuming you choose your patch in VirtualCZ, click send sysex when your project loads up yes. In a future version i will see if I can implement some kind of auto synchronisation between the hardware and plugin.
3) soon
4) when it comes out
