I was asking the developer a specific question via his site. Then, days later, I got a reply that did not answer anything I asked, though. Does the developer have a problem with English?
No problem as such, but in that case he should hire someone to deal with inquiries, hardly any of which will come from South Korea (let alone North Korea
).
So I suppose I will not use the cross-grade offer ending on the 15th, mostly because of poor customer service, frankly.

Once I send an email to Arturia about a discount-code that didn't work. And they replied that I should download the new version of the plugin
Maybe a right answer to the wrong person.

You may have answered mails, but not necessarily questions
LIke in this thread basically, where I have posed my question before.
My question is very simple to answer.
Since I have a mobile Internet connection with limited monthly traffic, I can't download something as big as the Kontakt player and Calliope just like that. So, instead of doing it in vain and wasting a lot of traffic, my question is: Can I save my Calliope user patches anywhere I like (namely on my USB pen on which I have all my other user patches as well) or am I bound to some directory or folder on my hard drive? To me that would be a deal-breaker.
And where do Kontakt Player and Calliope themselves install? In my user VST folder (which is also on my USB pen) or on the hard drive? (Steinberg for instance forces certain directories on users, which I hate.)
Since you work with Kontakt all the time, it should be a very simple question for you...

Kontakt Player is only installed on the OS hard drive.
Calliope is not install. It's just composed folder. So you can place any directory & external HD. But maybe, it will be slow on USB pen.

So, say I make a song using a dozen different samples, does that mean I load a dozen Kontakt players with Calliope inside? How much CPU does an instance use compared to common synth plugins?

You just have to load only one Kontakt and load a dozen Calliopes in it. CPU usage is 40~50% when loading a dozen Calliopes on MacBook Air 11" 2012(Ivy Bridge 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5).fluffy_little_something wrote:So, say I make a song using a dozen different samples, does that mean I load a dozen Kontakt players with Calliope inside? Please see Calliope manual 13 page.

Sounds good.
There might be something wrong with your site/domain/email address because Malwarebytes keeps warning me of a dangerous and thus blocked website whenever I want to reply to your mail.

It worked now, but I do find your pricing a bit dubious, frankly. In your original offer mail it said 49 USD for existing customers.
However, at the end of the day I paid about 52 Euros (i.e. 67 dollars, that can't be because of VAT).
On the confirmation page it says:
59 Euros (i.e. 76 dollars, where did that price come from?!)
Discount 20.55 Euros
VAT 9.66 Euros
Final 51.68 Euros
Seems more than the usual currency rip-off
