2) Assuming you choose your patch in VirtualCZ, click send sysex when your project loads up yes. In a future version i will see if I can implement some kind of auto synchronisation between the hardware and plugin.
3) soon :-)
4) when it comes out :-)
Ok, thanks for the reply - TBH if the VST sound engine is spot on I may part with the CZ-101 anyhow, maybe. I'll definately be grabbing a copy hopefully, the YT video sounds spot on although you say was done in Max4live, whatever that is?!

Oli did a phase distortion synth, based on the CZ series, as a Max For Live instrument (Max is an addon programming language that can be used within Ableton Live).

He then built on that work to make the full scale emulation in regular instrument plugin form we've been discussing here.

about this shot of the GUI: Here it is in ADSR mode.

Also, the 8 stage envelopes on the CZ series are quite unusual and you may wish to switch to use ADSR mode when first experimenting with the plug-in. You can switch modes with the button in the bottom right-hand corner of the interface.

Yes, looks like there are two subpages, the other MSEQ, and ..... then there is the scaling panel too

The colors selection reminds me of Waves Element

I should also add that anyone who has only experienced the CZ synths from non-velocity keyboards (ie, all of them except the CZ1) might be surprised at the difference that velocity (and aftertouch, though less so) makes when playing the CZ.

CZ's excel at plucky sounds (but differently to FM synths) and velocity response brings them alive and more playable to a surprising degree. Stick in some decent FX in your DAW and they are still surprisingly good synths - and for your dance heads who love DX100 solid bass sounds and the like, there are a ton of synth bass sounds that work to a similar purpose.

Not to mention *thousands* of sounds out there, should make VCZ a cool instrument to play with, even if you thought your CZ-101 was a bit cheezy back in the day... I've just been playing my CZ1 again and it's really nice, with a unique character that no other instruments can replicate - they don't really sound FM-ey at all, which is a good thing in my book because I never liked the really thin and bland FM stuff, at least in the 4-op range...

I've just added the announcement in my great collection Sounds of the 80s. It is the number 107 (the list is sorted in alphabetic order).

As soon as the KVR product page is created I'll link the entry to it.
