Wowie Zowie?? You want milk with those cookies or just the bedtime story? :hihi:

Yeah - I liked it a lot. Great story line too

So c'mon - out with it... What did you use, if I may be so bold...?

Thanks Xander. Zappa made me say it!

OK I used FruityLoops with Three instances of Albino 2, 1 X SampleTank2 for the strings (Veldynamic Orchestra) and a Pad with tinkly bits from SonicStation. 1X Triangle II and !X DR008 1.21 (Trance Grooves kit). I had four FX sends with 2 of the Albinos, DR008 and T2 on send to PSPNItro and Ohmboyz delay. Drums were through Ohmboyz. The orchetra patch was sent separately to PSP MixSaturator and PSP MixTreble.

Thanks again. Glad you enjoyed it.

Best,
Gordon

"Albino" and "SampleTank2 Veldynamic Orchestra" 8) :D

So cool. Thanks for the detail. Now I understand how you got such a great spacial ambiance with such good punch. :)

Albino is a beauty:So many sounds and so little time.

DR008 I couldn't work without it now

SampleTank 2 is irreplaceable.

The PSP MixPack is a versatile set of plugins and PSP Nitro is full of surprises. And I still find Ohmboyz excellent.

FruityLoops is just plain 8). One small problem is I cannot figure out how to record audio. NOt abig deal as I am very happy with Sonmar 3. But with a facile audio in Fruity would be perfect.

Cheers,
Gordon

You've convinced me to open up the wallet on the PSP 'Bag O' Trix' and Ozone (brushes away cobwebs and wallet opens with creaking noise). After that I have to save up for my gf's birthday.

I've only had FLS for a coupla months (old Sonar user here) and, as far as audio in FLS, well, I have more than just that gripe (see recently posted rant).

I s'pose you can't have everything you want in a host, but some things should be a given in a host that wants to be seriously useful to a majority of musicians, and decent audio recording is, IMHO, essential. Personally, I think they need to cut down on the bong usage over at Gol's place for a while and get a little better grip on their forward product development planning. There's some serious competition out there looking better and better all the time... Oh well...

You said it. Note that Live 4 is looking very nice in beta form right now.

What I liked most - Really liked this one - toe-tapping rhythms with driving bass, and constantly evolving and developing sounds
What I liked least - Other tracks had more of a Sci-Fi feel to them
Thanks Dunn, you mention it didn't have much of a sci-fi feel but I disagree. I was going more for a Matrix type track - specifically like The Propellerheads "Spybreak".

I'm amused when people automatically think space travel when the genre Sci-Fi pops up, since it comprises so much more than just that. Since I noticed alot of intitial entries going the space route, I chose to take another one - possible futures.

But - "It's all good!" :D :D

Noted ;)

To tell the trooth, I couldn't bring myself to give any honorable mentions for the June people because then I'd have had to mention everyone.

On second thought - Honorable Mentions To Everyone!! 8)

One other thing - I reckon K-v-R contest winners and HMs are putting out a pretty high bar for many to leap over - I'm serious - even for the pros out there. And - apart from a few gripes, snorts and bitches, some of the VSTi & FX that can be found here blow my mind on a regular basis.

I think back to a night many yonks ago at the 'Old School House' studio in Atlanta. I was playing poker with Joe South (Games People Play) while Billy Joe Royal was re-recording 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence', and the engineer had to keep spraying WD-40 into his "new" motorized fader cams to keep them quiet while the Producer (Robert Nix) kept moving the Barcus-Berry pickup around on the edge of the 4x4 plate-verb to get the right balance.

Anyway- Great job everyone! (I'll STFU now  )

EarthTones, thanks for the vote! :) Hey, I know I said I imagined spaceships and meteors when I heard your tune, but that's just me being an old-school sci-fi fan: if there ain't starships and lasers, it ain't sci-fi (to me).

I could just as easily hear your tune in a Matrix-esque movie, too.

Here are some brief 1MHOs - (one man's humble opinion)- on the submissions after my first spasm.

Bastien Good sounds – too dark to make out the theme though.
Blaster78 Love the beats and the bunnies
7zark7 Good voicees - theme not strong
SDunn1110 Even after several listens the tension is so good that the ending still suprises me – Great!
Ahriakin Clarion Good sounds and theme.
Carrieres Nice idea voice seems to detract after a while
Blue Days Powerful sounds – theme doesn’t come out
Emerald Tablet Great idea and production
softegg Good sounds – kept waiting for a melody
t-willy Great Fun and well produced. Love it.
aMUSEd Good soundscape
Bitstreem A real themic feel.
nikp2000 develops - I like the second half better
SecondSkin - Good production. I like the choir.
Utm Should definitely be a TV series based on your theme.
Tancos Clever mixture of old and new. Could be Rick Wakeman.
MArmstrong Good overall sound though neede more development
